Would rifling the entire barrel slow the pellet down ? I’m assuming it doesn’t apply to BBs.
@Waxmax
@Waxmax 4 сағат бұрын
That’s a really good question. The answer is I don’t know. However, what I do know is that lead is soft especially due to the tiny size of 177 pellets. Lead is also a lubricant. The more lead pellets that are fired through the barrel would, I imagine, build up a layer of lead resulting in a smoother pellet transfer through the barrel and also better accuracy. When I get a rifled barrel I will test your theory. Thanks again 👍

Hi Rune. I just received an interesting question on the beretta shooting through cans video. I think the question was related to the m29 as I said I want to put a full rifled barrel in that and not the beretta. Anyway. If you get a chance to read the question and my reply, I would appreciate your feedback due to your knowledge on gun smithing. The question was “would rifling the entire barrel slow the pellet down?” What do you think??

Hi again! I am "using" this video that I had already watched and, as ever, enjoyed, to tell you two things: another KZfaqr, said that the M29s from Umarex are in fact replicas of the S&W model 27,and those are in. 357Magnum, and the reals .357s ammo fit in perfectly, if you load the replicas with them. If you try to load these replicas with a .44 ammo, they will not fit. The reason why Umarex sais that these are replicas of the M29s is because of marketing matters. Dirty Harry used the powerful .44 Magnum, not the .357... Makes sense. Now the other thing: I get a .357 cartridge, and it fits and locks perfectly on my ASG Dan Wesson 715 model replica, as if this revolver was the real steel version!!! 😮😮. And the more I watch your videos on yours M29s the more I see my ASG came from the same place... (The end: I never get enough of your work on this replica or others...). ❤❤
@Waxmax
@Waxmax 8 күн бұрын
That’s very interesting. I know there are different variations of the 27 but from what I can see, the chamber and front sight look very different from the Umarex m29. That said, I’m sure there there are similarities. Do you have a link to that video? Yes, I know about the shell differences. I have inert 357 rounds and they do indeed fit the m29 and the 44 mags are wider. You can also use an original 357 hks speed loader which is a nice touch. I have had an idea about modifying an inert 357 round to enable it to hold a 177 pellet. I would drill through the entire round and insert a suitable sleeve and seal. That might be quite nice to see. If it works. Labour intensive as would need to do at least 6 shells but might be a nice little project to work on. Meanwhile I’m still working on the grips. First coat of tru oil has gone on. Second fixing dowel done. Recesses for magnet done. Magnet should arrive tomorrow. Grips should be finished in a couple of days. Chrome paint arrived. Holes filled. I’ve tested it and seems good. Will need to try different methods of paint application to try and get it right. Then there will be another video.

Absolutely brilliant . The n frame round butt grips I got from the company were also a bit lighter in color than the factory grips. I just lived with it but seeing how good they came out wishing I would have tried to stain them. Figured weight would be different but does it change the balance?
@Waxmax
@Waxmax 11 күн бұрын
Not much in the weight. The plastic side of grip without the hex key from memory is slightly lighter than the wooden one. Bear in mind the plastic ones I weighed had hot glue in as well so that added to the weight. If it were standard, the plastic would be much lighter compared to the wood. Feels great in the hand. Amazing difference. I’m so pleased with it. The balance is superb. The feel, positioning and hold of the thing is on a different level compared to the plastic ones

I was pretty sure the wood grip will be more heavier than the plastic grip ! (even with the hot glue) Happy to see than the silver and the brass cartridges are the same I will see tuesday when i will receive my 3" 4.5mm if there is or not an adjustable hop-up, i see no videos talking to that but in the descriptions there is an adjustable hop-up Thanks a lot ! @Waxmax
@Waxmax 11 күн бұрын
Hi, the wood grip did come in a little heavier than the plastic one (without the hex key) from memory but very little in it. Also have to bear in mind that I had to hollow out a lot of the wood and the plastic one is larger. Anyway, the weight doesn’t really play I part to be fare. Yes I could fill in areas of the wood to make it heavier but I don’t see the point. It’s very well balanced. Just the feel of holding it with the wood grip is totally different. So much nicer. Don’t even compare it to that of the white gripped trust me one! That was like holding a brick!! You won’t find a hopup on the 4.5mm model. That’s only in the 6mm airsoft version. It will have the hopup hole in the top of the barrel but there won’t be anything inside.

Hi, congrats on your purchase!! Hope you are happy with it. The shells do have a little play inside the chamber which is unfortunate but doesn’t effect the shooting etc. are you going to give the grips a try or keep standard? Hi, thanks for your comment. What you saw was actually hot glue. It certainly made the grips more sturdy and stopped that annoying creaking. Hi there, I’m guessing you found Bagnall & Kirkwood website which is the only place in UK that I have to sell parts for the m29. I just looked on there and they are indeed out of stock of the valve assembly. I might have bought the last one. Sorry about that. I’m sure they will be getting more in. However. I’m sure you won’t need one. Don’t bother drilling the holes in the valve itself to start with. That is very tricky. It takes a lot of time and precision and the drill bit needs to be about 1.5mm. They break easily. And you have to drill at an angle whilst avoiding contact with the valve seat lip. The easiest way to increase the power is to drill the main assembly which is the aluminium part. Just take your time. Use the size drill bits mentioned in my video and start small and build up 0.5mm at a time. If you do decide to drill it. Go and buy new bits. Keep the hole lubricated and take your time. Don’t build up too much heat and keep cleaning the swarf out the hole and off the drill bit. As for the shells, I have both the bb and pellet ones. I have looked through an eyeglass at both types seals. They are the same apart from the colour. I will be doing a video shortly and I will try and show you what I mean. Basically, they both work with either ammo

Oh the good old days before strict gun controls. I can see why it had to happen but perhaps gone a bit over the top. I never had a real firearm although I have used a few many years ago. I had, going back a lot of years, a couple of Brocock airgun revolvers. They were the air cartridge ones if you remember them. A pain to charge each cartridge as back then you had to use a stirrup pump and it was a real workout with many pumps for just one cartridge. They were beautifully made guns. Amazing in fact. They were soon outlawed in the UK as apparently people were converting them to fire live rounds. So I lost mine like so many others. Meant to be a lead ban coming our way too!! Hello again!! In fact it is to bad that we are to far apart. Each time I watch or ''rewatch'' these videos I feel it more. Anyway. the thickness of the metal of these cans, and its softness make this ideals to end problems of fitness as for exemple if a barrel does not fit a little forced to the frame on a revolver replica. Or on other parts in replica guns or other things as well. As I am in a country where parts are hard to find, and expensive sometimes, I have to get them from another sources and then modify them. Little bolts (for 1911 grips and alike)comes from old house interruptors, electric sockets, and damaged home circuit breakers, also bring some interesting components that you will use. Please check this and let me know when possible, if this is not too much asking. Those computer dust printers also have lots of parts for electric replicas ( but I do not like electric replicas, and unfortunately I do not know nothing of electronics so far) but they got lots of springs that despite of having strange shapes, may have lots of use on replicas. As well as theis small and tiny small bolts, nuts, metal or plastic frames supports, brackets, and so on, The dust ink cassets also have plastic gears, that may be used or replicas, but I do not know for sure, and they have an aluminium cilindrical tube, that can become a silencer or other part, funny springs, and a magnetic axle. Here there is a big problem: the super thin dust. And I can not get rid of this, how I wish I could find some help here. I got around 400 cassets for disassemlbing...

So it was not a complete surprise. We should talk through other means... ( At this very moment I am watching again that video where you show your broken blued M29...)

You can buy the rear loading shells if you wanted them. I have seen and held the Dan Wesson and it looked really nice. I wouldn’t worry about cracking the frame. The only reason this happened with me is because the co2 seal retaining nut wasn’t fitted properly so when tightening the co2 it just leaked. To try and stop the leaks I overtightened it way too much. I mean a lot, and that caused the crack in frame. If your seals are ok you will only need to lightly tighten the co2 in place.

@@Waxmax 1000 Thanks for your explanation about the reasons that lead to your frame M29's crack. You had told that before. About the loading shells as I told you they are load from the front, but there is no need to unscrew the fake projectil. It is made of a rubberish soft plastic that allows it to be done this way. My BBs are on a table, and I press the ''ammo'' upside down agais it, and it goes in... I got here some live real .357Mags, and soon I will check if they fit in the cylinder. Of course the only reason is to check the realism of the replica, on this ''chapter''... I like to own the most realistic replicas I can afford. And if they work close to the real thing, it is even better. If I could afford japanese replicas, and find a way to bring them here, 70% of my fears and problems with replicas, would go away maybe forever!! I am going now watch the 2 videos from you I have not yet seen!!

That’s astonishing really. Looking very good and respect the dedication. Metal butt plates were a thing in the 70s and would like to get one for my 629. I say go with the butt plate. It’s rare for a YT channel to get a lot of subs quickly. Many channels are on for years before they get traction unless they do something viral.

Thanks appreciate your comments. I didn’t know that about the 70s. Very interesting. I will do the plate and then see how it all turns out with and without and go from there. More bloody work! 😂 but I do enjoy it. Just wish I had more tools to make it easier. I’m working with hand tools and a pillar drill.

Hi, Can't you use rechargeable 8g or maybe 12g sparklet ? Maybe you will get more space ? Like this, the sparklet will not need to move A hole in the wood grip to reload the sparklet

Hmm. If you shorten the grip you might be able to use the 8 gram CO2 canisters. How about cutting the bottom of the plastic grips and glue the to wood grip? Not sure how good it will look 🤔. Good luck whatever you choose😃👍

Thanks for your message Rune. Yes this a bit perplexing! I did the video today as received the grips only yesterday. I have now cut the piece from old damaged gun and it does fit. I’m now thinking about seeing if I can get this welded in place. But then I’m wondering if the heat will damage the chrome plating. I have many ideas running through my head right now. I have carved out one side of the new grip apart from the very bottom until I decide on what option I will choose. I did think about smaller co2. I’ve been working on it all day so I’m taking a break and will sleep on it and look again with fresh eyes and mind tomorrow. Definitely won’t be using any part of plastic grip though. I like a challenge but this one really is a challenge!!

@@Waxmax Just be careful with using any sort of heat on the gun. I think its made of potmetal/zink and will melt at only 420 C. Maybe soldering is an option. Not sure 🤔. Good luck with the mod😃👍

Amazing!! Can’t wait to see it on your video. I do miss your replica airgun videos. I’m also toying with the idea of buying the 8 inch one. There is a company here in uk selling new for £130. As I already have the old useable parts from my black/blued one, I would have the option to swop the barrels over from a new 8 inch to my existing 6.5 inch. I just love this model. Always have.

Hello again. Every time I watch a video of yours, I love this channel more. All your thoughts shown here, are mine, as I will someday buy the same replicas and/or others, and I want to change their grips, of these very models, and others I do not own yet, but I have seen on videos here, and photos on the sites. Now: rechrome this material, well I do not know, my friend... Ask those that know non-ferrous "metals", like zamac. 😮 I know that now they chrome these sort of metals and even plastics, like these we see here. ( I am not teaching you anything, as I can not, and you know away much more). I love building and creating things. I love D.I.Y.,and modeling diverse toys and dioramas. And above all, I love replica guns. How I'd love to own the Japanese ones ❤❤. 1000 Thanks for this video!!

@@runerebel8441 thank you. The price is pretty much the same here. Only £20 less. Money is money but the cost of these things is low considering most hobbies. Excellent mods , quite ingenious 😊. A little wiggle in an AK mag is very common. A lot of times the shinny bolt is from chrome plating.

@Waxmax 24 күн бұрын
Thanks for your message. I know real ak’s are known for being a bit clunky and a slightly loose mag can’t affect it in the real steel. But as this is co2, the slightest gap between the mag and barrel would cause a massive difference due to co2 escaping. You should wait till you see what I did with the ak74u! I am really really pleased with that one. Vid will be coming
