Seems to me that a lighter flywheel would lower the torque number. Rotating Mass is decreased.
@-Sirens-
@-Sirens- Ай бұрын
Opposite actually, a flywheel doesn’t increase or decrease HP or torque per say. A flywheel is a rotating unsprung mass, like your wheels or your brake rotors. Lightening them only decreases stress on the engine allowing it to work more efficiently.

Hey brother I am trying to buy a kit car 1965 Shelby cobra from a dealer out of state. The dealer is in Charlotte and I live in California. But the dealer won’t sell the car to me because they said I need to provide them a kit car voucher from my local dmv otherwise they won’t sell the car to me. Because supposedly California only allows 500 kit cars per year to be registered. I already called the dmv and said there in no such thing as vouchers. Any suggestions I I should do? Thanks so much brother.

The DMV needs a certificate of origin. But I wouldn't give that to the DMV until you are ready to get all the other stuff handled through CHP and the braking light inspection . They should give you the certificate at a later date after you complete your build

But are you able to sell it now?
@emac282
@emac282 9 ай бұрын
from my understanding you can. When I asked the DMV they said that if I sold it during the process then whoever bought it would start over and it would be more difficult. I believe, and how it was told to me is the "not to be sold" is so it doesn't become a business. And then liable if someone dies.

Hello Erik! I have a question for you, your #3 cylinder exhaust header is coloring different than the rest. Have you found any issue with that cylinder? Mine is doing the same but best I can tell it is firing the same as the rest.
@emac282

I don't know. I imagine I might have a issue with an injector and running lean. Because previously my O2 sensor fuse kept burning out. But I have not gotten a check engine light, other than the O2 sensor. Car idle is good and reps good. Code is p0132

Sold the car, but while I had it the flywheel was great. If you have to replace the clutch or flywheel I would definitely recommend it. It didn't affect the daily use at all.

Unfortunately the mass of the flywheel is a bad way to characterize it. The moment of inertia value is more relevant. Half the mass doesn't mean half the energy stored. moment of inertia though linearly correlates.

@Angry-Lynx Жыл бұрын
@@hudboys8120 basically bs. Mass distribution is what will greatly affect rotational inertia. But considering both flywheels have similar design, yes their mass is very relevant. Of course 2x lighter flywheel wont make engine rev 2x faster because flywheel is not the only rotational mass of engine
