This is my new project on its way to be an Exocet. This is a 99 Miata with the ACT stage 1 clutch and flywheel. with a side by side comparison with stock (sorry for the shaky cam) Stock is on the left prolite is on the right

I have some on my Honda but it drives great really snachy and the rebs drop fast.

did you have any noise/chattering ?

No. Not that I noticed

Is stock flywheel in single or dual mass?
@emac2824 жыл бұрын
single

Tbh there isnt a huge difference there is a little difference in feel and shifting but not really a whole lot, if your on a budget id go with a good clutch anyday before the lightweight flywheel.(i run a lightweight myself and a stage 3 flying miata happymeal)

For me the time waiting to go from 7k in 1st to 4.7k rev match for 2nd just feels like the longest time ever. I really think that shortening that time would be nice.

is it smooth for daily driving?? i know cases that isnt easy
@emac282 Жыл бұрын
it was smooth, I daily'd it. I had a street clutch.

Unfortunately the mass of the flywheel is a bad way to characterize it. The moment of inertia value is more relevant. Half the mass doesn't mean half the energy stored. moment of inertia though linearly correlates.
@hudboys8120 Жыл бұрын
Can you dumb that down for me😂
@Angry-Lynx Жыл бұрын
@@hudboys8120 basically bs. Mass distribution is what will greatly affect rotational inertia. But considering both flywheels have similar design, yes their mass is very relevant. Of course 2x lighter flywheel wont make engine rev 2x faster because flywheel is not the only rotational mass of engine
@TheAdatto Жыл бұрын
@@Angry-Lynx and if most mass is near the middle it's matters even less

Does the stock ECU handle well a fast revving engine ??
@emac282 Жыл бұрын
The car handled great, no check engine lights, ECU was fine. I did at least three track days after the flywheel.

Seems to me that a lighter flywheel would lower the torque number. Rotating Mass is decreased.
@-Sirens-Ай бұрын
Opposite actually, a flywheel doesn’t increase or decrease HP or torque per say. A flywheel is a rotating unsprung mass, like your wheels or your brake rotors. Lightening them only decreases stress on the engine allowing it to work more efficiently.
