I know it is hard, but, if you could break the coffee habit in that heat you would be more comfortable.Caffiene shots maybe.

Definitely resting from running for a week, then a gentle small jog back into it

It seems to me that the phillipines is not really 'geared up' for backpackers? Unlike most other countries in Asia, I.e thailand, Cambodia,Vietnam etc.! But I guess that adds to the adventure. Look forward to more of your videos. Keep up the good work😊
@olderbackpackerКүн бұрын
It’s definitely an adventure lol

Philipinnes offers a senior discount on travel if you're over 60. A 250P bus ticket would be 200P.

Wow a 40+ video! Great work, Stu. I doubt you’ll be able to find them in the Philippines or SEA for that matter, but, Nike ACG Watercat+ shoes might work a touch better than flip flops. They’re pricey but they’ve served me well over there for beach walks to some mild hiking where my feet would get wet. Anything to keep you up and down and not horizontal on the ground 🤣

It’s not often I do a long video of more than 20/25 minutes but I liked the city :) I might have to buy some new footwear soon!

tut tut tut shocking behavior Stu video'ing where not permitted i recently tried to take a photo of the Magna Carta in Lincoln and was met with the same utterance of contempt hell what are rules there for if not to be broken lol It looks an interesting museum i'd say. Ahas when you were eating that street food., "it could be chicken.....could be fish" priceless definitely looked like chicken. That's the thing about the Philippines it's a mixture of the poor and not so poor. Finally caught up to date with your travels i'' try not to keep it so long next time

Don't cook Stu??, now there's a good challenge for you 😃Why not have a "what i do like to cook" episode? I do like to see when a video moves into dusk, such a quaint transference.
@olderbackpacker2 күн бұрын
I do cook sometimes, but only if a hostel has a kitchen. It’s quite rare to get one in SE Asia in a hostel :(

hey buddy you look to be well on track to get out of the country (not that you want to) Absolutely spot on to not put money in the bus stations man's hand without a ticket . That looked to be on a scale of 1-10 an 8 on a travel day day mate, onward and upwards from here. You did look cream crackered at the end of this video and it was only 7am :)
@olderbackpacker2 күн бұрын
Definitely an 8 on a ‘what’s going on?’ sort of travel day lol… I felt okay for the first hour of getting off the bus then I crumbled :(

challenges indeed mate, how hard can it be to get a sim card, should be pretty easy you would have thought. I know hide-sight is a wonderful thing but maybe buying from capital cities would be the best thing going forward.
@olderbackpacker2 күн бұрын
I never usually buy a SIM card in a country where I am, relying on free WiFi in hostels and coffee shops, but it’s very limited over here, and trying to buy one is just as limited!!

oh my, those official tour guide prices are way expensive, just do your usual finger in the ear see which way the wind is blowing kinda route. Holy Smoke i'd have crapped myself if i was on that island and there was even a small eruption. Some amazing views to be seen. wow, that was an expensive day for you mate, no McDonalds for at least a month now

aha these are the video's i love mate when things don't go quite to plan (not laughing at your misfortune in any way) as you say, this is what happens when you go off the beaten track, you'll get back on track soon enough that's for sure. Lol just at the end of the video, made me chuckle that about the hotel...A companion indeed :) they were taking the Michael with the extra 6 quid for the few hours early check in, i'd have gone and had a kip in a bus station personally AHA
@BuddhaL0rd3 күн бұрын
Wow that's an impressive hotel, decent price too. The sound quality withe the new mic is just fine mate

Shame that it’s currently the rainy season coz you could’ve also explore beautiful Sorsogon ,plenty of spring resorts and beaches there,including a visit to Lake Bulusan. It’s basically a very tranquil place, such a big contrast to the chaotic crowd of Manila. Enjoy!

Yo Mate... you ASK people.. not just one dude but ask around... and MOST Filipinos understand and can speak English! There should be LOTS of Buses heading south of Manila even as far as Minadnao (Davao)... Every town and City will have a so called Integrated Bus Terminal where most of these buses stop... You simply HOP on and pay while already in the bus. Other Terminals will also have ticketing offices/kiosks, etc... Got your happy ending so far mate!? Enjoy the Philippines!

There is no interview or paperwork for the visa extension. that is not accurate. You just need copies of your passport and credit card. Pay $25 at the bank cashier downstairs. Took me 30 minute to complete the process. Most of the time was spent at the bank line.
@olderbackpacker5 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment. Can I ask where you were to get your visa extension. The video was taken about 18 months ago, so maybe they’ve changed the rules?
