Hi if the the window isnt broken and you just had to change the regulator would you need to remove the window

I don't have access to the car anymore but from the manual it says: "The control module with the rear window regulator motor can be removed or installed with the motor or door window in any position." Follow the video to remove all the interior trim pieces. Lastly, remove the connector to the regulator/control module, the 3 bolts holding it and it can removed.

Thanks for the hints, worked like a charme. It was a bit difficult to place the nuts to fix the window by not deconstructing the whole mechanism -- small hands would have been helpful. But in the end I fixed it with some wooden pins 🙂

I got mine from the junkyard so it's the whole harness plug and play except for 1 wire. BMW sells retrofit harness so you probably need to figure out the wiring www.getbmwparts.com/oem-parts/bmw-rear-view-mirror-retrofit-wire-set-61120434330

@user-jl1gm2rc2s yeah in the video that one brown wire, I had to take it out of the original wire harness plug and put it in the new wire harness plug.

$30? Those mirrors cost around $100 in Europe. I've seen US spec ones from around $40+ on Ebay, but with shipping fees the final cost comes up to $100 anyway.

How do you wire 240v wires to the inverter? Please explain, because there are 3 wire input on the inverter, black, white, green. But there are 3 wires on the compressor, which are 110v, black and 110v, white and ground green so you get 240v. I am confused a bit how you get 110v without the white neutral wire.

Inverter converts the 220v to 12v DC, since the fan runs on 12v.

@@mixmeister9985 not sure on the regulator but in the service manual it says to remove the window, then you can remove the regulator. But the window regulator motor can be removed or installed with the motor or door window in any position.

Carefully start with one side with a plastic pry tool and work your way over.

You just need the harness from the junkyard. Connects from the mirror/rain sensor to the map light. There's only 1 wire that leads somewhere else preventing you from taking out the harness completely. You can take it out from the original oem plug and plug it into the replacement from the junk yard.

EBay search for AC 110V-220V to DC 12V 3-50 Amp Transformer Switch Power Supply Driver Adapter. The fan uses about 10 amps.
