It's called an Allen Key. You can pick up a set of Allen keys quite cheap at any hardware type store.

You were so worried about not using proper terms, but you are using words that I most certainly understand. This is the only video I’ve been able to find that helps fix my sewing machine. repair center wants a base fee of $100.😮

I just got an old white sewing machine and its not feeding from the bottom im gonna try this thanks so much😊

You have adjusted the neddle bar height, not the hook timing. Yes, this impacts the timing, but it is a separate adjustment that needs to be correct BEFORE adjusting the hook timing, which is done in the lower part of the machine, that drives the hook. You got lucky and it works...
@I.am.crafttini3 ай бұрын
I tried what she said and somehow it fixed my skipped stitches too. So what other adjustment do you suggest?? With repairs being almost more expensive than this vintage machines that actually do last a long time it is wasteful to trash them and get some disposable new expensive but cheap machine
@JohnBau3 ай бұрын
@@I.am.crafttini What I take issue with is her describing it as a "hook timing adjustment". What she made is a "needle bar height adjustment". It does impact hook timing, but that's not it's purpose. Hook timing is a different adjustment, done after setting the height.

Yes!! I am another person cheering for this video! I have been trying to catch my bobin thread for two days and could not understand what went wrong. I will try this now. So grateful to you for posting this info. I too did not pay much for my machine and did not want to take it to the shop which might end up costing more than I paid. Wishing you all the very best
