@ambitiouslyintuitive2 күн бұрын
Everyone on this podcast has read it, multiple times. If you catch this full episode, you’ll hear us reference this given this is a small clip. However, people can enjoy a movie or show without reading the source material, no? Anyway, thank you for your input nonetheless. -Lacey ✨

I often feel that the thing with Georgiana’s almost being lost not very long before the dance caused his hackles raise.He was still upset and wasn’t ready for social interaction or the craziness around him. Mrs. Bennet’s comments about Bingley and Jane being married within six months reminded him of how he is treated when he goes to balls or other events and was generally worried Bingly being entranced by those who would take advantage of him.

It is actually a really good film to see how historically life would be for women in the past. Love was not the priority, survival was, and wealth helped that along a little easier. Even to the point of marrying a cousin. Honestly enjoyed it.

Matthew is not bad, but I prefer Colin Firth as Mr Darcy. The BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice is the brilliant. The film with Keria Knightly cuts out so much of the plot. Plus it has that terrible Disney ending. The only thing worse is film version of Persuasion with Dakota Johnson.
@ambitiouslyintuitive6 күн бұрын
Cynthia (co-host on our podcast) loves the BBC version. Yours truly (Lacey) does admittedly love the 2004, Disney-esque ending and all - and I totally respect your POV 🤣💕

@ambitiouslyintuitive9 күн бұрын
Do tell more. At first reaction, agreed. The first movie didn’t have social media. You had to address more issues in person back then (even if it was passive aggressively). Perhaps that’s why Gossip Girl was initially captivating as it started to modernize “burn book” in website form.

Georgia LITERALLY KILLED, risked her life, well being, AND education for Ginny and still gets treated like garbage... at this point throw the child away
@ambitiouslyintuitive9 күн бұрын
Definitely hear your opinion. Most kids are a reflection of their parents. Georgia is strong, smart, stubborn, and is unafraid of conflict. In all fairness, Ginny hasn’t had any a stable upbringing (even though Georgia is aiming to give her a better life) and also isn’t done developing. She is a reflection of Georgia as a role model - for better or worse.
@coff2x387Ай бұрын
I’m trying to understand the point of the statement: who would expect a kid to understand adult matter..the problem oftentimes is identifying adults as kids are maybe the parents need to grow up..
