tough fire in these old buildings, prob 1 or 2 false ceilings or re-roof jobs.. darn near imopossible to safely get tat the fire, all those streams can do nothing but help cool the building and protect from more burning plastics contents.. but that ceiling has to almost burn itself down through the layers as the fire is buried deep..

@azul88112 ай бұрын
You are CORRECT a portable extension ladder IS faster than the TL bucket. 1. HOWEVER, a TL bucket provides a more stable platform to work off of in order to VES. 2. Also, IF perchance a person or persons, either civilians or F/Fs, have to be removed from the 2nd floor via the exterior there is no contest on which method is safer and more practicable. 3. Additionally, since the Truck is positioned IFO the fire building anyway, and the bucket is not required elsewhere it's good practise to position it as we see here.

Some dialog to orient viewers to the situation--forexample exposures-would be helpful! The video again demonstrates the competence and aggressiveness of the FDNY!
@johnkavy4 ай бұрын
Exposures are the surrounding buildings, yards, or streets. Starting from the front of the fire building, which is exposure 1, then to the left, exposure 2, exposure 3 is the rear, then exposure 4 is to the right . In this fire, exposure 1 is a street, exposure 2 is the attached blue house to the left, exposure 3 is a rear yard, and exposure 4 is a street. Hope that helped.

@azul8811 Better use of masks would be a good idea. The amount of firefighters spending long periods of time outside in thick toxic smoke is shocking in this day and age.I do think that FDNY massively over resource most jobs.
