First time I have seen a Deputy Chief yell at a camera person.

Where I live, they'd probably yell at anyone getting in the way that isn't actively working on an active fireground.
@FloridaCatholicGuy4 ай бұрын
@@grabasandwich true, but in NYC they usually let the camera people get really close.

@@jpope537 i think he works for the FDNY but might not. I have heard where in some instances they do have thier own camera guy maybe for evaluation to see what they can improve on and what possible mistakes were made?

what a mess those cable and phone lines are surprised the firefighter didn't get tangled up climbing through them its like any time the companies upgraded the just ran new line never taking the old one out!
@pipe50line924 ай бұрын
What type of lines were those that the member pretty much climbed over on truck 140 main ladder please tell me they weren’t eclectic power lines ? Just curious, once those jobs extend they become stubborn especially once in the cockloft n void spaces under the roof.
@jays1063 ай бұрын
no they were communication lines ie: cable and phone power is always highest lines on the pole

Great video! Good job by FDNY. Glad no one died. These are 2 family homes, why so many people allowed to live there? I heard 12 families in 2 homes.

Sometimes home owners rent out the basement, first floor and second floor
@azul88114 ай бұрын
They are illegal occupancies.
@stevepiazza23814 ай бұрын
@fdnymark135 yes, but there are occupy laws and basement apartments are illegal. Years ago, fire inspections were done, but like everything else, that's history. NYC is in big trouble.
@azul88114 ай бұрын
@@stevepiazza2381 Basement apartments are not necessarily illegal. However, cellar apartments are.
@stevepiazza23814 ай бұрын
True, but over occupancy is against the law. BTW, those are legally listed as TWO family homes, i lived in Maspeth all my life.

Single family? LOL You’re joking right? Two attached frame dwellings occupied as a multiple dwellings with illegal occupancies also in cellar. You live in the sticks somewhere?

Not a whole lot to see. I had hoped you would have filmed the chauffeur you walked by in the building rather than watch crews milling around.

Great video footage, what a horrendous job firefighting , so many people standing around like always doing nothing

What task wasn’t being addressed by firefighters that you felt should have been?
@andyoxleyonhistravels4 ай бұрын
@azul8811 Better use of masks would be a good idea. The amount of firefighters spending long periods of time outside in thick toxic smoke is shocking in this day and age.I do think that FDNY massively over resource most jobs. I've never seen so many firefighters being crammed inside 1 house that it must have been almost impossible to work and move hoselines around and how do you keep any control of how many have gone in and how much air they have? Interested to hear your thoughts as usual.
