Beautiful little video. I was born and raised in Lancaster County, PA. Lots of quaint towns and villages throughout this area. Shoo fly pie and whoopie pies are a staple of the Amish women bakers. Doesn’t get much better than PA Dutch, and Amish cooking!

What more can one say of Arlington cemetery. Very beautifully presented. It was overwhelming at times but one simply has to take in such reverent history.

No offense but why would you leave DC to visit Philly? Philly is such a sh*t hole and such a boring town. Most places close at 9 or 10…

Another inaccuracy. The estate was not sold to the US government. It was confiscated. Lee's son sued the US government, and won, decades after the civil war and was awarded $250k. The government bought it at that time.

If you are going to tell the history of Arlington National Cemetary, tell the whole truth! What is the ONLY home on this property? It's the Lee Mansion! It belonged to the wife of General Lee. At the start of the Civil War, and Lee decided to fight for the south, General Grant told Lee " I will bury my dead in your front yard" now ask yourself, what Graves are in the front yard? The correct answer is Graves of the Civil War.....so now you know that this sacred ground was started over a grudge between the 2 generals!

😭😭😭 My heart and soul goes out to all the families that have lost a loved for their service to our country. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I truly appreciate their sacrifice for the freedoms I have today! I may not be able to console you due to your loss, but I truly appreciate their dedication to our country. My grandfather is a WW2 vet may he rest in peace as well, may it not be here but he is resting with all fallen veterans. Please, dear lord or whomever you may pray to, continue to try and protect and save as many of our men and women you can throughout the fighting our service members endure. I understand you keep them all safe but please do your best. In respects to all religions and cultures. Amen 🙏 🙏 🙏

The Market literally kept families going during the Depression. They always had food, grew and canned. But no money, Social Security was not until late 1935. My daughter's great greats weren’t there, they had their own veg stand on then-Brookville Pike since 1918. They sold chickens to Woodrow Wilson, that was his favorite place to motor, he loved long drives. Brookville was one lane then. Women’s Farm Cooperative was like a mirage in the desert thirty years of high rises later…what am I seeing? If Forest Glen Seminary School for Girls can be saved, Women’s Farm Cooperative can. After languishing for decades, it was the phoenix mentioned here, it was sold and restored. It was so utterly impossible and out of reach….I determined it was a coalition of heavenly sisters who came together to get it done. Nice to see this….share it with Share arrow above. Anyone who has ever lived or worked in the area will get a kick.

Robert E Lee did not not side with the south. He thought slavery was immortal and thought secession was illegal. He could not fight a war against where he was raised, Virginia. Isn't it strange, that the highest burial you can have in the military, is to be buried in his yard. There is a parable in that. Loyalty

GREETINGS!!! I am originally from southern Maryland and what I would call myself conservative/libertarian. Mayor Barry was convicted of a crime. Who was the victim? To me it was a waste of the taxpayers' money to pursue, prosecute, and incarcerate him. RIP Mayor Barry!

It is amazing that that was once the home of Robert E Lee. And that the man that was in charge of bearing these soldiers made sure to mix up the graves. Because he said he was tired of states rights and that they were all Americans. " There is no government on earth that should be more paternal to its soldiers than the United States because it derives all its power from the great body of the people "

I agree with everything Pat Buchanan said. And after visiting it it's even more impressive in person. It has a spirit about it that I've only experienced at one other place, the Oakland Army Air Base, which was where many returning vets came home to. That place was haunted.
