I really enjoyed your video. I also use a scooter on my cruise and the people were very rude. I would wait for 30 minutes to 45 minutes before I could get on to the elevator. Thank you so much for putting this out. Your mother is a beautiful young lady, thank you once again🎉

I always insist that people on scooters or wheelchairs enter the elevator ahead of me. I can walk, so I am better off.

I’ve found that on cruise ships most able bodied passengers will all stop at the very first elevator that they come to. The whole area will be super crowded and congested with passengers. I’ll bypass that elevator and head for the bank of elevators either forward or to the back. And since I’m on a scooter, I never pass up an elevator with room to enter. It’s ok to just ride up 3-4 floors to then ride back down to the actual floor that you want.

Every cruiser should watch this video! I cruise with a wheelchair so I can relate to all the problems. Most of all, be patient!

I am going on my 3rd Carnival Mardi Gras cruise in a few months. As the big sister of the Jubilee, I know those eating places well. LOL.. I agree with your picks except, Rudi's was a miss for me. I have yet to do Guy's Pig and Anchor, so maybe this next one I will give it a try. I like Shaq's Big Chicken and the Sea Food Shack as well. Happy cruising to you. I enjoyed this video, too.

Wonderful. I love the term SWAN I also have severe hearing loss. Although I have a cochlear implant, my hearing is still a challenge. But that too, is managed well with special equipment supplied by the cruise line.

Hello, I just watched this video, and I'm sure it will be very helpful to others. I am an 82-year-old who now travels solo using a mobility scooter. Before my husband's death, we used to both cruise with scooters. I will pass your video along to those who ask me how I manage. It's wonderful to see you and your mom able to enjoy cruises together. Before we needed scooters, we used to get off at ports. On my cruise several weeks ago, I was finally brave enough to get off the ship at a port on the scooter. I will include that in the vlog I am putting together (I hope.) Nice meeting you. I am subscribing.

Thank you for the helpful advice. I am 74, with multiple health issues. I am beginning to think a cruise might be possible for me I the future, once I save enough money. You have given me hope. Thank you so much!

Thank you for your informative video. My family and I will be going to Alaska this summer leaving out of San Francisco on Crown Princess. Can you give suggestions on the best time to get to the San Francisco port? I expect lines but any tips you can give regarding maneuvering that port is appreciated. 😊

Hi, I'm so glad you found the video informative. The easiest way to arrive is to get dropped off at the pier (usually pier 27). If you have to park, there are garages nearby but allow at least an extra half hour. Also, if you are parking, drop your luggage off first and then park your car but be sure to keep your carryon with you. The drop-off area is easy to spot and there will probably be officers directing the traffic so you will know exactly where to go. There will be porters at the ready for you to drop off your luggage. When you get your boarding documents you will see that you have been assigned a boarding time. I suggest arriving thirty minutes before your boarding time. The line will be long but it moved fast. Have your passport and boarding docs ready. If you have preordered and received your medallion, your checkin will be even quicker because after you go through the security checkpoint, you can avoid the additional line to receive the medallion and head directly to the ship. I am so excited for you and I hope you and your family have the best time ever!

We (my wife Carolyn, who has Cerebral Palsy and uses a manual wheelchair that I push her in) and in our late 50’s just finished a cruise on one of Breakaway’s sister ships, Bliss, from LA to Vancouver and we had some really similar experiences…We got lucky that our accessible Oceanview was right off of the elevator banks, as are all of the accessible Oceanviews and are Surprisingly big (like 340 sq ft or so, about the size of your average hotel room on land…so no real problems with the admittedly narrow hallways(the whole entire ship is actually quite narrow, to be honest)….Parking for Disabled is similarly awful at the port of LA by the way ! What was also similar was the the Customer Service was flat out Terrible! Far inferior to what we’ve experienced on three Royal Caribbean cruises last year…from our experience, we found the Quantum and Oasis class Royal ships FAR more accessibility-friendly than Bliss was

Wow, so sorry you guys had a similar experience. Hopefully Norwegian will do better in the future. I haven't sailed on Royal Caribbean yet but I hope to do so soon. :)
