My reel mower spins if it’s on a hard surface with no problems, but once it touches grass the reel stops. I just lapped the bed knife, would a worn down bed knife do this?

🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽awesome lawn. Sorry about your pops sir. Besides the golf course, you must have the nicest residential lawn in Honolulu. We moved from Oahu (Kailua) to Wisconsin in 2020 and that’s where my lawn journey started. That’s an instagram lawn right there lol.

I would never install a system to begin with. How hard is it to drag out a hose?

It's all about convenience and efficiency, but dragging out a hose works too!

I would also apply the granular. The powdered will percolate quickly through the soil to the water table below. The granular is time released. But the powdered is a great way to get the process going quickly.

Thanks for sharing your insights on the granular and powdered options, it's always helpful to consider different approaches.

great! by the way do you know how to fix the extensible leg of lifetime table: it doesn´t clip and the nipple remains inside
@TheLawnSauceАй бұрын
It may be rusted or the spring that pushes the nipple might be broken. I would try some WD-40 or a comparable penetrating oil such as Liquid Wrench.

Nice find a local guy on oahu doing lawn care videos🤙🏼 any tips to help me oit with my zoysia? I purchased a new dev home but they only place plugs… some areas didnt fill in… also some areas not as green as i would like it to be. Any recommendations on fertilizer and other products? Also do u Aerate your lawn?
@TheLawnSauce3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. For plugs, it can take up to a year to fill in. Now that summer is approaching, the grass should spread more. I would recommend you use Scotts Turf Builder Starter Fertilizer until your grass fills in then switch to 21-0-0 Ammonium Sulfate also called Sulfate of Ammonium, Gaviota brand. I would keep it simple and resist getting suckered into products and things you see on KZfaq. You'll need to manage the weeds that creep into the bare spots until the area fills in. I have sticky clay soil that clogs my manual aerator so I don't aerate much. I do have a few areas in my lawn that dries out quicker than the rest. For these area I use a 4-tined spading garden fork which I poke into the ground and wiggle a bit to loosen the dirt beneath the grass in an effort to "fracture" the soil. For these problematic areas, I try to manage the moisture in the ground and not let the area get overly dried out as the soil becomes hydrophobic. You may hear tips on youtube about watering deep and infrequently. For us here in hawaii with clay soil, its about watering more frequently but less (every other day). This is especially more true for you as your grass still needs to spread and become more mature. Hope these tips help! Find me on instagram where I have more daily content. Mahalo!
