I am just hoping 6 will use motion capture for more realistic animations like how Naughty Dog used motion capture in The Last of Us. I think that is the main area that it could improve on.

Much like everyone else, I grew up thinking LEGO Island was the first LEGO game, completely unaware of the one on the SEGA Pico (a young children's console nobody played or knew about.). I have a soft spot for the series, including the bad ones because I was mostly able to look pass their flaws and saw them as having great potential. Something I wish would become realized in a community made remake of the trilogy, if it ever does become a reality. Though I'd be willing to bet I'll be an old man when (if) that finally happens as I'm already 38 right now.

@Analog_Nightmare I remember in Emperor's Tomb when you finally got a gun, it was like shooting paintballs at the enemy and you ran out of ammo quick! Least Black gave you ammo back after it took 20 shots to kill a standard minion

Finished replaying through this game recently, I was a bit bummed out there wasn't scene where you had to chase and board the Ratte as it was escaping as I really wanted to see the interior of this Nazi super tank and it felt like a missed oppurtuninty, but besides that, yeah this is now my favourite Sniper Elite game. Really loved the African setting, it was a nice break after having played so many WW2 games set in Europe.
@Analog_Nightmare4 күн бұрын
100% agree with the African setting, Rebellion makes really convincing worlds, and I think they did a great job for a point of WW2 that while not neglected, doesn't get what we got for Europe.

Looking forwards to this one, having only just picked up Sniper Elite 5 as it’s finally on a sale that works for me, I’ve been enjoying the maps, changes and story of the campaign, and haven’t yet touched things like invasion mode etc.
@Analog_Nightmare4 күн бұрын
Have you tried invasion mode yet? Tell me what you think!
@Libertas_P776 күн бұрын
Objectively Sniper Elite 5 is mostly better in most ways, but somehow also doesn’t live up to Sniper Elite 4 for me. I think it really needs smarter, more dangerous AI via the Authentic Plus mode, and that’s something Rebellion could and should add, but probably won’t, let’s face it. Sniper Elite 5 is overall the best game in the series, but lacks the magic of its predecessor in some small ways.

I need to give Authentic mode far more love than I have!

When single player games try to dip their toes into the multiplayer pool. It's always a mechanical disaster.
@Analog_Nightmare4 күн бұрын
That's always how I've felt about games who use single player maps that are also in multiplayer, it makes me wonder which is getting the real design precedence and which is a consolation prize
@guvyygvuhh2988 күн бұрын
Finished the first DCL mission with only non-lethal takedowns and maybe 5 non-lethal welrod bullets. Was a bit more challenging around the starting area and in the main building due to the large number of enemies and many sightlines they have on eachother. Still did it without rising any (metaphorical) alarms. Took 2h to clear the beaches and military fort but after that i had the liberty to move around. For anyone wondering, in non-lethal stealth runs focus mode, corner/bush camping and the whistle are your best friends. A silenced pistol with the 20 rounds of non-lethal ammo will also help a lot
@Analog_Nightmare4 күн бұрын
Maaaan I feel like whistle was so hit or miss for me! Bush camping is absolutely the way to go though. Sometimes just stopping to observe can tell you a lot. I think the real best thing I can say about this game's environment is... It's definitely the most fun I've had sitting in a virtual bush haha
@guvyygvuhh2984 күн бұрын
@@Analog_Nightmare Rebellion messed with the sound a lot in se5, enemies will not hear u if they are behind solid objects. That does make sense, u are not gonna hear a whistle thru 5m of solid concrete but it creates funny moments like a bush or chair being able to completely stop sound. But generally if u have a clear line of sight they will be able to hear from ~23-24m away (same as se4). Weirdly enough this only works if enemies are passive, enemies will not always care about line of sight if they are panicked, its pretty inconsistent and i get why high level players are annoyed

One thing I did enjoy playing SE5 is that the invasion mechanic really rewards SUPER sneaky, like solid snake level, gameplay. This means most enemy living players just give up because you aren't tripping lines of sight of AI and just enjoyed pecking at the invaders with a welrod and skurry off until I get off the blip. Then rinse and repeat.

@Analog_Nightmare17 күн бұрын
I was thinking that!! I'm split on the idea of a game set in Japan, but Cold War could be such a cool setting. The ziplines especially could be a great start to some urban traversal.
@BlueSky-uf6oy21 күн бұрын
As much as I enjoyed this game, I was deeply disappointed that we didn't get to fight the Rat tank at the end, real missed opportunity after all that buildup. Sure it might have been crazy, but having to duck, weave and sneak through the rocky desert as the Rat drives around, dodging its massive arsenal and taking potshots at the few precious weak points and having to run up occasionally for a strategic satchel charge placement could have made for a great final boss, and test the player on everything they've learned.
@Analog_Nightmare19 күн бұрын
Especially since we've had to do exactly that for some of the smaller tanks!

It's ok, I sold it after I finished it. I play these on the hardest setting, 3 and 4 is the best. All the levels felt bland in this game and the AI felt like a downgrade, 4 has the best AI. I think the 3rd game is very underrated, 4 is the best but 3 is also solid, I replay 3 and 4 about once a year. Your right about the lack of sniping, only a few locations have big open fields, but even then, the maps lack good veridicality.

I having a hard time playing this game due to its graphics. I want to ask from a storypoint perspective, should i start the dark force series with dark force 2 since that is when kyle story starts?

DF2 is very obviously a predecessor to the Jedi games, whereas with DF1 it's just sort of, slightly reminiscent. I would go DF2

I own 3 and 4, also have the zombie games but they get old faster. I pre ordered 5 but sold it after finishing it, it wasn't bad but it didn't hook me. I like 3 and 4 about the same. The 4th game is bigger and the AI is better on the hardest settings, but 3 is still really good and worth owning, AI is also fine enough to enjoy. The environments are different enough in both to the point that they don't feel repetitive owning both.
@Analog_Nightmare29 күн бұрын
Which is really where I think the strength of the series lies- traveling to all the key battlefields around the world, and being immersed in the environment. Atleast for me!

@@Analog_Nightmare I really like V2, I Like the drab grey depressing surroundings that fit the war infested streets perfectly and as you mention the story telling which is great without it needing to be silent or worse still bad acting, unless you like that sort of thing, in which case Rouge Warrior is hilarious, so bad it's good if you've not played it. As for Elite III, I started it and found it tooo bright, you could throw a party in that desert! I've also not had the same eagerness to carry on playing it as I did with the V2, so it's been sat there, I was going to play them in order but I'd rather just play V2 again. I guess I need to give it more of a chance, but that's just it it's not pulling me in like the previous game.

If the first game had allowed us to stealth a little more, it could have been one of the best games I've ever played. Atmosphere, unpredictability of artificial intelligence (on Sniper Elite difficulty), tense environment, tense music... Cool to have these videos in one compilation. It gives the whole series a better context. Btw. who is that balding sweaty guy who is clapping like a maniac in front of the Microsoft logo? I have no idea why, but he completely cracks me up. Also, "Frenchie" in V, Marie Chevalier has actually been a SE character since V2. She's been a DLC skin in every game. V was the first time she actually made an appearance. 😎 "Listen very carefully, I will say thiz ønly wuence!"
