Ryobi battery powered lawnmowers I thought I was getting a great piece of equipment but I’ve been having nothing but problems and I have to second the motion on too many safety switches since watching your video on the repairs or replacement have they improved on their product the one I have keeps quitting thought I was helping mother nature

I hear you my friend. Fortunately or unfortunately, (depends on how you look at it), they have not changed the safety switch (It's required to have them) and i get that, the simple fix for #RYOBI is to make the switches out of metal NOT plastic. Since I have changed mine, it's been working perfectly and it's been well over a year now. Again, not telling anyone they should do this, since i have to say that, and I DO NOT ALLOW a child or even a young teen to operate the mower if you do make these changes. I am the ONLY one who handles the mower. They make sure great products and now have serval mower versions out (not sure that is) BUT STILL don't make the safety switches out of metal, I'm shocked that they are allowed to make a safety switch out of plastic, THAT... doesn't seem safe! LOL

Thank you for the video. Into my eigth mowing season and the dreaded shutoff problem shifted from annoying to unbearable. Knowing time and wear changes dimensions and tolerances, and being reluctant to buy the necessary torx tools to access the switch between the handle and mower body, I Scotch taped a penny size flat washer over the red button so that when the handle is in place it pushes the button a little bit further into the switch. Voila! no more unintended shutoff. Don't know how long this hack will last but I've got more washers and Scotch tape.

Thats fine, not telling you HAVE to do that, BUT... if your mower isn't covered under the warranty any longer, you'll have to pay HD (the authorized repair shop) to fix it, which is about $165. Half the price of the mower. OR.. you could just buy another $400 mower... OR you could just do this for a few bucks and 20 mins of work and save yourself a bunch of time and money,,, but that’s your call. Good luck!

Hi, as far as i know there is no syncing setup, my remote worked right out of the box. Be sure your using good batteries in teh remote (one of mine was weak the first time and nothing worked). I replaced them all with new ones and it worked. Be sure your base is fully charged as well by the solar pannels. The base should be ON in order for it to work with the remote. If you leave it OFF the remote cannot communicate with the base.

Why are you going over and the same spot with no lather? I thought the whole point of a supply SE razor is to reduce the # of blade scrapes
@manview5178
@manview5178 5 ай бұрын
As I said in the video, The blade has over 12 uses on it already so i needed to run the blade over a couple of extra times, however, even doing that, the blade didn't cut or burn. Also, with an edge like this, you can't "push" down like you do with a regular razor. You have to do the Place and Glide method so it cuts, not rips. If this was a new blade, i would have gone over each pass twice (like any blade) and it would have been fine. Cuts close, lasts long and you do need to learn how to use it because it will cut you, so it's best to pass once very lightly (depending on your beard thickness, mine is very thick, and stiff) and then go over once again to a get a close cut. Hope that helps!

We are living in Toronto and want to buy a snow blower for our two cars driveway. The Greenworks corded is one one of the machines I am considering. But not sure if it really works for 1 to 2 feet snow? Some people said the corded ones do not have enough power?

@manview5178

Hi, Yeah, it depends. I live in New York on Long Island and the winters can get pretty bad here as well. I have a two car driveway as well as you saw on the video and went it through the snow with no issues at all. What I can tell you is this, this blower can easily handle a foot to a foot and half at a time with no issues at all. If you're the type of person that lets the now stop before the cleanup and have over a foot and half to 3 feet or snow?, it will work, BUT... you will need to make several passes. As you saw on the video, i went through snow that was higher than the blower, the blower went under he snow, i did have to back up and go over the same spot again to cleanup the top that now fell to the ground. to avoid that, I go outside and clean up about every 8 to 9 inches and it works great! PLENTY of POWER. In fact, the one thing i wasn't crazy about was that it blows SOOO HARD out of the shoot, about 25 feet! you can't adjust the speed, so if you have neighbors close by, you have to keep adjusting the shoot nozzle to avoid shooting the snow all over their property. with all this said, if you get a lot of "freezing icy snow" that's very heavy and hard, i would go with a blower that has a steal/metal blade. This has a very thick hard rhino plastic blade (which works great), but don't know how it would stand up to hard Icey thick snow. Hope this helps? Gary

@manview5178

Yes, depending on the price increase, it may not be worth the slight boost in power. Again, this shoots about 25 feet out of the nozzle (pretty powerful) i wish i could turn it down sometimes because it blows it so far. If you feel more confident with the extra power and you can find one at the right price, you may want to check out the reviews first and go that way. @@Bingoye

Hi Steve, true, but what are your options after 4 years of using it? throw it away and buy another mower for $400? or spend a couple of buck, 20 mins, fix it and keep using it for a few more years like I did, and mine is still running fine! I (like most) didn't know this was going to happen a few years after I purchased it, so I did what needed to be done to not spend another $400. As of this year, Ryobi is looking into changing these pieces out for metal (instead of plastic) parts because of videos like these and complaints, so it's working. I have dozens of Ryobi power tools, lawn tools and even their Pet Stick vacuum and have had very few (if any) issues with any of them, so overall I'm extremely happy with their products, and NO I'm not sponsored by Ryobi, nor have they ever gifted me anything.
