Hi mate, thanks for your video. I noticed, you have a quad on the back. Do you ride this pretty much anywhere on the island or only some spots?

Nah man I've been a few times and ive only seen a few, still you should google what to do if you see one, especially if you have kids around. I think you just have to look big and yell but make sure to do research.

Unfortunately a 2WD will not. Access to the Island only allows 4 WD vehicles only. If you dont have one you can Hire or go on a 4WD tour.

Unfortunately the camp grounds do not, and the only mobile communication tower is with Telstra. So no other telecommunication service has signal.

Thanks for the info, it might be a stupid question but i'm heading out to fraser next month and wondering if this drive is doable on high tide? If not, are there inland tracks or by pass routes we could take to get there? We have 3 days on the island and are trying to plan our days around the tides and it's proving difficult.
@AllAboutFraser

Great to hear your planning a trip. Personally I would not recommend driving a High tide. Depending on how high the high is sometimes you could be pushed up into the soft sand near the banks. This is not pleasant, it can be dangerous and it's a strain on your vehicle engine. There is rocky bypass that sometimes need to be used on aow tide. I would plan to drive only 2 hours before and 2 hours after low or stay at a place of interest all day waiting to travel on that incoming low tide...hope this helps. Travel safe.

Yes that about right...depends on the traffic. Sometimes many tour buses and a few narrow passes....beautiful drive though. Happy Travels.

Depends on tides, traffic and weather. These are all variables that can impact the drive. Pick a time in-between as an estimate...happy travels

Hey boss, just came across your videos. What do you use to check tide levels?
@AllAboutFraser
@AllAboutFraser 10 ай бұрын
Hey mate, generally never travel beach on high tide and avoid the salt water like the plague. Want to keep my truck rust free. But if I have to cross sea water always walk it and look for submerged holes, rocks, etc. ....hope that's what you were getting at with question ...cheers

Can you get a oneway ticket at one end of the island and another at the other end OR can you do that with the one return ticket?
@AllAboutFraser
@AllAboutFraser 11 ай бұрын
Hey Steve...General rule is Inskip Barge ticket price is only a return. However the barges at River Heads can be booked one way but you can't then return on the Inskip Barge. So beadically whatever Barge you book to come over on is the one you return on....cheers

thanks for this, one thing i wanted to know was IF you get caught on the tide or close too, can you just jump onto the inland tracks?? or is there only certain points you can cross from road to beach.
