Well this model is a whole lot better as far as detail goes then the model I built in 1975! But my finished model looked just like this model so the difference really isn't that great. You are right about the hype that surrounds this ship, The US had three Colorado class ships with better armor and 16in guns and Britain had the Nelson and Rodney with their 16in guns. And of course the British battleships pounded the Bismark into junk in just 30 minutes!

This looks different than the Revell Bismarck kit I built back in the early 80's. I don't have that box anymore so i can't tell you the scale or manufacturer skew.

Oh great. Now I’ll be watching model building videos for six months.

I built a 200 scale and had to paint the swastikas on. Revell is not the best brand. To much trimming on their skews, ie parks and such.

This build would have been so much better as a waterline model. *hides*

When I was ... probably 8-10, I had a Bismarck model (don't remember if it was Revell or Monogram or who, but it definitely would have been from a company that sold models to places like K-Mart or Woolco) that was motorized. The main turrets would turn, and the guns would raise and lower. Also, it floated and the propellers turned (with a dab of Vaseline where the shaft went through the hull to keep water from getting in).

I hate to say this but I noticed one other thing but i don't think its your fault. The Washington is the only battleship with alternate stacks one slanted back and one forward. My dad was on BB-56 for her whole wartime service. It was one of the many stories we were told about , her unique silhouette at night. love your channel.
