So like I'm a young single mom. I can only work 9-4pm MWRF and I want to be a shift supervisor. Do you think I have a chance? And the website IS allowing me to apply to the shift supervisor role from the start. This is a new store that hasnt opened yet. Uhm... I could so use the pay but I've only ever worked fast food crew and managenent (in places where they don't actually train you for management)
@watdavedoes10 күн бұрын
You for sure should go for it! Starbucks is very similar to fast food so I think you are more than qualified for the position. Only thing they might not like is your limited availability… they tend to pick people with lots of flexibility. Best of luck!

I wish I could’ve seen this video before the interview but I still got the job! I did have to ask the interviewers if I can have time to think since I didn’t know I’d be bombarded with critical thinking questions 😂 I nailed it though. without Starbucks experience, because I’m 24 with LOTS of interview experiences. I know what the company seeks for when they ask tricky questions. They want to get personal with you & probably hear the best parts about you, along with weak points that you WILL overcome. A research about the company’s motif and purpose should be a plus but I was a regular at that store so made it double the chance, I think.

How can I become better at counting change, Dave what were some tips as a cash register that started at Starbucks.
@watdavedoes11 ай бұрын
At my store not a lot of people paid with cash. It was mostly credit card or they used their Starbucks mobile app. I think with practice you will get better! Just take your time and the speed will come. If you get nervous about how long you are taking counting the change it will distract you and slow you down. The speed will come with time! You can also practice at home (kinda lame Ik) but set out some coins and have a random number calculator going and whatever number pops up give that amount in change! Best of luck 🥳

I really want to quit :( my SM wants us to complete drive times within 30 seconds because we were the fastest in Washington state at one point which sounds cool at first but it’s the biggest pain in the butt. I work at a drive thru and I ran to the bathroom crying after a customer kept pestering me to throw away food that another customer touched. I was going to get to it but I was busy and she kept asking me how long it would take for the food to be ready. I ran out and went to the bathroom to cry because that same day I opened up to my shift about how bad my physical health is getting (I’ve gone to urgent care twice because I’ve been told I’m overworking myself from opening shifts) and she knew how bad my mental state was and she still yelled at me for trying to prep a hot drink before I took a walk up so it could be made while I take an order. She was someone I thought I could open up to but she just completely switched into a different person because she was struggling to open the store since our ice machine was down and our water pipe was broken the day before and she was only taking it out on me. I seriously want to quit, but I don’t know where else to go, where else to work where I can get paid much more. It’s so stupid. Why do I have to deal with Karen’s on a daily basis just to make minimum wage?? I’m NOT staying here another five years just because of “free” college that isn’t even free. It’s so stupid.
