Just a tip, you can cover the pedal switch with a cloth so that it doesn't make as loud a "click" noise when you step on it.

Forever and ever David Bowie!!!!❤ 1 saludo cordial de Cristina.

What does that line going on from 2 over 3 to another 2 at the beginning? What is it anr what does it mean??
@TheGuitarDojo3 ай бұрын
The line from 2 to 3 is a hammer-on and the line from 3 to 2 in a pull-off, marked by 'H' and 'P'' on the tab. So you only pluck the string once and get three notes.

I got all the chords down but I need help with the picking. What fingers do you use for the picking pattern and if you had any tips that would be great.
@TheGuitarDojo3 ай бұрын
Hey mate, I'm using the pima system which means the thumb does strings 6, 5 and 4. Index does string three, middle string two and ring string one. When the strumming starts, keep using your thumb for bass notes and the nail of your index finger for downward strums (think gently brushing down). Then use the pad of your index finger for the upward strums (more of a flicking motion). Doing some Travis picking exercises would definitely help too. 👍🖐🎸

"I listened to the song a lot to fill in the gaps from the Justin Guitar video that I started this song from." look, these youtubers are great for simpler songs but once it gets complex they spew out garbage consistently. instead, try to find someone who specifically covers that artist and always listen to their cover before learning it to sus it out. i can send you better resources that are specifically for elliott smith stuff if you want.
@TheGuitarDojo4 ай бұрын
Yes if you could send some Elliott Smith resources my way that would be mega, thank you! Justin Guitar made a point in his video about how his interpretations not being100% correct, and so it was a fun challenge trying to figure out by ear what he plays on the track. bar 11 is wrong, you missed a hammer on that mimics the intros, 0 on e to 2 on e
@TheGuitarDojo4 ай бұрын
Is that for the D chord in bar 11?
@that_fellow_espresso6242Ай бұрын
@@TheGuitarDojo I'm not sure what he means but concerning that D chord on bar 11, it feels and sounds more correct to me when I play is like this: (on the last four notes) though I may be wrong -----0 --3--- ----2- -0---- -------- --------
@TheGuitarDojoАй бұрын
@@that_fellow_espresso6242 Yes that's right, the last semi-quaver of bar 11 is an open 1st string, but because the next chord is E is imminent, I play that as I'm transitioning chord changes D-E rather than a Dsus2 shape as it it's faster.

The lesson, tab, and your playing are excellent! That guitar tone though... I'm sorry but I find it to be quite grating on my ears. I think it has to do with compression and/or EQ mids? I'm not very good at getting good tone myself lol I hope my criticism is well-received.
@TheGuitarDojo6 ай бұрын
Hi! Yeah that's fair, I've got way too many pedals and effects going on to try and combat how thin my guitar was sounding, and the resulting tone is quite harsh. I'll do another video with my other amp and research up on how to achieve Billy Corgans tone. I appreciate the feedback 🙏
