Fantástico tutorial. Voy a usarlo mucho en mis revelados. Suelo hacer fotografías de aves y muchas veces el fondo de la escena queda mejor si se hace el bokeh. Muchas gracias.

I'm not sure how to ask this question properly, but one thing I wanted in pixelmator pro was the ability to use a green screen function with layers. I know there's a term for it, but I don't know what it is. Basically, I'll add a green mask over something in pixelmator pro and then bring it to final cut pro and use the green screen effect to add a layer over the green (or whatever color I choose to change). Is this something that's in photomator?

Damn, I'm glad I found this video. Very rarely someone making Affinity *ADVANCED* tutorials that very easy to understand not just to experts but also to beginners, because these are still new for someone who using adobe for years like me. But as you can see, many of us are looking for alternatives and I'm using Affinity now, its similar like Adobe, but need a little adjustment with the features that are not as easy and details as new Adobe, for example I noticed we still need to manually using selection brush tool while in new version of Adobe we only need 1 click button and the software will automatically select the object that we want. In the other hand I feel nostalgic using Affinity like the good ol' days in Adobe, but still, despite many "worst things" that's happening in Adobe right now, they brought many good features that Affinity should follow. Once again, thanks for making this video. And I'll subscribe your channel for Affinity contents, nothing wrong to learn from beginning again, because I adore this software right now😁. And I believe Affinity will be huge in the future and many agencies and corps will be using it, so when that time is come I already be prepared😁

It is said that photomator's raw engine (apple's) applies noise reduction you cannot turn off. Some have run tests and get notably softer images with Photomator, which they attribute to this noise reduction. Have you seen anything similar? Thanks
@takebetterphotos8132
@takebetterphotos8132 2 күн бұрын
Interesting feedback. I did notice that Photomator needed better sharpening to give crispier images but I did blame it on poor sharpening rather than automatic noise reduction. If they do this (automatically noise reduce) it is not obvious to me. You can check my Photomator vs Capture One review where I mentioned such kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ftx9gbxi2brHiI0.html and how I would improve sharpening of Photomator images with Pixelmator Pro kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hpNje9iKnMC6mZc.htmlsi=Sg8AOiFwm2b9OdVD Hope that helps!

@@takebetterphotos8132thanks for the response! I'll check out the videos. Since my comment, I did some tests myself. I used pure raw 4, applied noise reduction and sharpening. Then I imported the resulting raw file into photomator. Following this, I exported the photo from photomator as a jpeg, without any tweaks. I also exported a jpeg from pure raw 4, from the original file. The photomator result was notably softer than the pure raw jpg. This has me think there's indeed something going on. My test isn't perfect, but trying the same test with different raw engines I got better results.

Photopea clearly has the edge over Luminar Neo. In some cases, Photopea is even better than Photoshop. Compared to Photoshop, however, Photopea often produces completely wrong results, with objects, people or animals suddenly appearing, even when regenerated several times.

Thanks fore the demo. If you have used the generarive AI, which you mentioned, you come to see that DxO is far, far behind in retouching tools.. The Retouch Tool is really old technology similar to what Lightroom was offering 10 years ago. I never use Photolab retouch tools as I have access to Lightroom and Photoshop. Given the advances Adobe has made in the last year I do not know if I will bother upgrading to Photolab 8. Maybe just get the Pure Raw plugin for its superior RAW processing.

I am using Photomator on an iPad because I like a simple solution for travelling light. I wouldn’t understand why you would use it on a Mac despite its nice user interface. Capture One is so far more advanced in all the categories you tested that I wouldn’t see a reason. The same would probably be true for LR, but I stopped using Adobe products and don’t have experience with the current products. I understand the price and value discussion. But that always irritates me. How much are we paying for our cameras?

"I understand the price and value discussion. But that always irritates me. How much are we paying for our cameras?" Good point. I guess if you are regularly upgrading, paying thousands of dollars on equipment than saving on photo editing software doesn't move the needle😀. However there are folks who might not have that luxury so price matters! Your point-of-view to edit on iPad is interesting because I personally prefer editing on a PC.

I took 10000 photos with Lr cam and Lr Mobile edit. Never had underexposed photos and problems with „graying issue highlights” when they are bring down until I bought 15 Pro Max with ProRAW. Does Halide also have that issue? I started to give up for photography. ProRAW sucks. I tried taking -0,03 but it doesn’t even help, tried bring up whites a little and exposure - picture became overexposed. I’m so sad. I don’t want to use Lr cam because it doesn’t support optical zoom. Even ProRAW profile doesn’t help.

Thank you for those feedback. I don't have the latest 15 PRO RAW MAX, only 13 Pro max. Are you saying the editing in 15 pro raw max is worse than the previous iphones? That would be very disturbing. Have to educate myself on this problem. You can try shooting bracketted RAW files and merging them in a photoeditor if you want full control over the quality. The file size should be the same as PRO RAW.

Which is best - a lot depends on your needs and thus the criteria. Where Photopea has a major advantage is if you have a major investment in Actions or Scripts as Photopea can run any that would have run on CS6 or most versions before the introduction of AI - that is NOT the case for Affinity; Secondly, Photopea running in a browser can be used on much cheaper Chromebooks, again that is NOT the case for Affinity; Finally, from a commercial perspective, BOTH, have a limited talent pool. Whether the new owners will prove to be an advantage is a big question - if anyone remembers Paint Shop Pro being bought by Corel they'll understand how a market leader under JASC Software can fall quickly.

The layer system in Affinity photo is so much similar to substance painter which is a layer based 3D texturing tool (owned by Adobe but offers a perpetual license on Steam)... Yes a lot of people (including myself) have been clamoring for an AI based selection system. They are truly laggards in this. I've heard from some commenters Affinity will have the functionality soon although not generative AI. Their non destructive masking is indeed good I was surprised photoshop was behind them in this. Never heard of substance painter. Must be one of the obscure apps of Adobe!

@@takebetterphotos8132 I feel like a software doesn't need generative Ai to be powerful... I just want more control on the user end/artist's hand... Even still to this day, Photoshop doesn't support OCIO configs for color management natively. (It is a standard for film and Television industry) There are third party plugins for this but it's kinda half baked.. Substance Painter is again a industry standard in the gaming industry, used for Texturing 3D assets and it's part of Adobe's Substance 3d suit, which they acquired from Allegorithmic...

I'd add 3 more what I consider standout features: 1. Being browser based, run it up on a Chromebook you can make it into an web app (web based of course) on your desktop with it's own icon - helps take advantage of cheaper hardware that apart from being personally helpful can be really helpful in an educational environment. So rather than launch Chrome you simply click on your desktop menu and open the web app for that site. 2. As its' origins were essentially CS6 you can run many of the Actions that would work on CS6 - obviously the more complex and modern AI stuff is more challenging. 3. Loading Actions, Gradients etc is simply drag & drop.
@takebetterphotos8132

OK, $5/month to get AI selections, yet for $9.99/month I get LR and PS in the Photography plan. LR has some of the best AI tools available in a RAW editor. So if you are willing to pay for a subscription, which you must to get the better tool in Photopea, why not get the real deal for $9.99 USD a month? That is unless. you hate Adobe, then you have to go elsewhere and pay more. I own the entire Affinty suite, Photo 2, Publisher 2 and Designer 2 which at the current 50% sale can be had for a litte over $80 USD - a great deal. Thiis gets you ALL platforms and mobile.
