As a long-time skeptic of On1 as regards promise versus actual real-world performance, I'm starting to run short on skepticism. I think you're spot on by saying it's best value for money out there right now.

I was a skeptic as well. As you say they used to over promise and underdeliver, This improved in 2024. Their releases this past year have been all good and it is faster and more fluid than in 2023. Hopefully it continues.

This was clear, not too fast for us old photogs and well explained. Thank you. Have you made a tutorial on the 2024.5 healing brush? I have to go back to use 2023 to use the healing brush to use the “head and shoulder” tool. Any way I’d love an in depth tutorial on that tool. Thank you.

"us old photogs" with totally stuffed hearing for accents so needing subtitles ---- I often can't read fast enough . Nothing worse than motor-mouth Americans

Another great video/update . I used On1 back in 2017/18 and I really liked the On1 way. But they kept letting me down one way or another. Certainly was not the full replacement for Lightroom as they were marketing. Tried a trial recently but it would not run on my 3year old photo PC! --- now with the PC rebuilt I will ask for another trial . Originally I had to buy a new laptop to run it :( Have you done anything with the DAM system? ---- any thoughts compared to LR (old versions)

I know what you mean---over promising and underdelivering. Since ON1 2024 though they surprisingly have improved quite a bit such that I'm recommending it over some others. How does this compare to the iPad version (feature parity)..? Moreover are these Ai Masking features available for the iPad version..?

The iPad version based on my understanding hasn't been updated with these new features. I would not rely on ON1 for iPad use. It is not as polished nor as feature filled as the desktop from my experience. If you ever try it let me know what you think :)

great update. I have been considering On1 since Capture One for Sony was discontinued, it seems to offer good featofor the money (at least for the hobby level) ... how would you classify the stability of On1 on windows? if you use windows . thanks

It has been sped up quite a bit since ON1 2024 was released. So performance is fluid in my view compared to ON1 2023 which was extremely sluggish.

I'm new to ON1 and I've just tried it out. I think I'll get the hang of it eventually but what riles me from the outset is that the images I've practiced with have all turn into ON1 postage stamp icons. Is there a way to leave the actual image on screen so I can use it immediately without having to click on every one to find the file I want to use? It's so confusing seeing so many files looking the same and not know what's under each postage stamp.

Are you talking about viewing files in browse mode? You mean the thumbnail of the image is not shown in the grid?

I did bought On1 Photo Raw 2024.05 and realy disappointed with masking. Lightroom does job so much better. Still not good enough for me so ill stick with Lightroom for now.

@takebetterphotos8132 when I'm using mask to select people it's struggling to find edges. And on same picture using lightroom all proces is smooth and fast and 99.9% acurate in one click

Also, it's really enjoying that I need to sign in using my account credentials. Why it can't it remember me on my pc. Possible I'm missing some settings for this.

you absolutely can erase from super select - hit the option/alt key and the brush turns to a - and erases. And once you create an adjustment or effect you can use the brushes to erase or add to the mask.. This is a very mediocre review of the new super select ai
