Yeah. Even as a kid, I thought her getting mad about doing parking duty was weird. She came off as very entitled While I think you are very nit picky and pretentious (using the term media literate), I can agree with a lot of the bigger points.

@TheSEAempire I agree with your takes, and maybe you weren't trying to be, but "media literate" is pertensious because it's saying without directly saying that I'm illiterate because I don't have a degree in reading themes. The people that wrote Zootopia aren't illiterate, they are just dumb or just didn't see the holes in their writing. I'm not mad, i know you were just taught the term. The professors that invented the term though seem to think their view is flawless, they're excluding and demeaning people that don't share their opinions reguardless of the person's knowledge on the topic, and think they're doing society a favor by doing so. Edit: Media "literatacy" seems to have little to do with knowledge and more to do with people wanting to feel smart. Or feel like they're helping the robots of society.

There is a whole lot wrong with many of the points made in this video “omg he’s such a simp and a creep stop simping over mermaid woman” *proceeds to endlessly simp and creep over Penelope Cruz* Also, the ritual with the fountain takes all the years of life from one person, being all the years they HAVE lived, and and COULD HAVE lived

I thought the Will thing was Jones catch up. Jones didn't do his job for centuries. Will had to deal with literal centuries of sea ghosts that piled up.

I had high copium watching this movie for the first time because I really wanted it to be good. First half I put up with the nonsense thinking it'd make a good comeback but no I slowly grew to hate it the more I realized it was just an absolute rancid mockery of the original trilogy. I just pretend it doesn't exist now.

Even as a kid who was a big fan of the series this movie always felt off despite I couldn't explain it to my friends who were utterly confused as to why I didn't like it. It felt like a filler episode in one of those anime, you know the ones, the episodes ones where the filler is completely disconnected from the main story-line, introduces a bunch of boring one-note characters who manifest out of thin air only to vanish and never be addressed ever again once the episode is over and the entire events of said episode get practically ignored.

Something else to think about is that the squids most likely to be hunted and successfully killed by predators are the smallest ones. So it is completely possible that the size of the largest squids could reach near 100 feet.

Movie blatantly supports white supremacy talking about how minorities are going to take over and the wh!te r@ce will lose dominance in America as white people will no longer be the majority group in a few years. That is the only way that you can have a group of people that oppressed another and then they have a treaty that lets the oppressed group be human and in the future people hate the group that oppressed them. White people are the predators and black people are the prey.

I still think the race allegory could work if all the characters were ONE species of animal - be it cats, rabbits, foxes, whatever. Then you could really nail home just how ridiculous racism is by, for example, having one rabbit pull pepper spray on another or something else.

Jack and Barbossa were originally intended to be two sides of the same coin. 'Trickster gods' amongst mortals, one light and one dark (according to Ted & Terry). I also find it interesting that in the first film, Will & Elizabeth ground the story in reality, whereas Jack and Barbossa belong to a more fantastical plane of the story. Then as the trilogy continues, Will & Elizabeth become more mythical, each eventually ascending to a godlike status (Pirate King & Captain of the Dutchman), but they navigate their paths to that end in very different ways. Arguably because they learned how to be a pirate and navigate this supernatural world from different people - Will from Jack and Elizabeth from Barbossa.

It was for sure unnecessary, but it was still a good movie. It was fun and on its own is still good enough to be in the franchise. The story is wacked, but yeah, I’ll allow it. What I will not allow is PotC 5. That this straight up disrespected the core characters so much, especially Jack that you have to wonder if the script was written when everyone believed Depp was the villain and never bothered to change it after he was proven to be guilty of marrying a crazy ass woman

I don't think even if you are biologically different than someone with sapience there really should be a precedent should treat them any different, which I think is what the film is going for. Like humans don't automatically become an 'other' becuase they have a woman gene, if they posses still have ability to think, reason, and treat others with the respect, it makes prejudice unnecessary. I don't have a cynical view on its allegory of eugenics because ultimately the fear is manufactured but it never really addresses that all animals in the city are dangerous, like a feral weasel is not nearly as problematic as a feral elephant, so you really have to actively dumb down the logic to get it to work, but ultimately its like why be scared of large muscular black guy asides the fact that he *could* be more dangerous than a large muscular white guy. Its just becuase of conventional preferences if it was really as concern of safety there shouldn't even be rabbits because ultimately someone takes the bunt of it in the food chain of this universe, being a hamster must fucking blow; Now if the plot was an alegory about the coke/cocaine epidemic of how the same drug was viewed differently by the public depending on it effecting predator or prey it would make sense. But all it does now is perpetuate this idea that all measures are justified for safety. This video doesn't really address my other issues with the film and that the largest mammals in Zootopia are like rhinos, elephants and buffalos who are primarily prey. Or my other issues which is the in-between of animals who are either conventionally both/neither. Where does the worlds most dangerous animal to human go, is a hippo the equivalent to both end of a spectrum? Its not based on herbivore and carnivores because no one ever addresses what do the characters eat. Is a pig both predator and prey? I could go on but I've already gone on a tangent about the world building. Disagree with a lot of it, but its mostly the eugenics part.
@nitrozeus6393

The main problem, is that the metaphor falls apart. When you think about it yeah I prey that are way more dangerous, then predators. But they treat all predators can do tons of harm.
