Hi, I'm technical engineering from RAI, and since several years I'm involved into comparing Broadcast monitors from many manufactures; even Color balancing diagram (abs and rel) is a must, I still don't understand well the meining of y-axis units, precisely I'm wondering the algorithm used to calculate them. I suppose that they are calculated by measured vs target RGB stimulus, but I wasn't succeded to figure out the precise formulas. Could you help me to understand that? often it could be useful to me to compare measures coming from different evaluation software.Thanks a lot Andrea

I notice you calibrate with video levels. I get great results calibrating with video levels, but less great values when I calibrate with full levels. I need to work in full levels, so is there a better way to get good results when calibrating with full? One option is to calibrate in video and switch everything to full for the post cal verification, but even this doesn’t give tight enough results for what I need.

At one point in the video, you can see that energy saving mode is selected as the picture mode which has really cool white balance. I think this is the reason. The C3 actually delivers a good experience even without calibration, for example in filmmaker mode.

Can I use this with the home software and a client3 licence, to calibrate my monitors on my computer? I asked the same question in an email half a year ago. That was an example of using a Home license, a colorimeter, a PGenerator (Raspberry Pi) and a Client3 license. Back then,the answer was yes, but now, you've apparently removed support for the PGenerator in the latest Home software. So, can I use the G1 with a Home license and a Client3 license to calibrate both my TV and two monitors? You guys really, REALLY, need to work on your homepage. One is left with a lot more questions, than answers, scouring your website, which defeats the purpose of a website in the first place.
@PortraitDisplays20 күн бұрын
@@akyhne good questions. When you use Client3, you don’t use the G1 as a pattern source, you also use Client3 as it is pattern generator AND ICC manager at the same time. As computers (laptops) have no HDMI input, Calman connects to Client3 as a source. Calibrating PC monitors on the other hand can be accomplished also with the G1, as they have HDMI inputs. But when there is not much to control (like settings in the monitors), you may want to calibrate also via Client3 in a closed system.
@akyhne20 күн бұрын
@@PortraitDisplays Yeah, my question was actually just if the Home version still works with Client 3. It's a huge selling point that it does and I have no idea why you're not telling this on your home page. Are the bundles a limited-time offer or will they stay for a while? Or permanently in some form? The Hone/G1 and the Home/G1/C6 bundles? I have the money for the smaller one, but would rather save up for the big one. But it would be pretty disappointing if they were both gone in a few months.

Hi there, I bought the Calman for LG Home (version 5.15.4.7) software package with the C6 colorimeter. In the meantime, I have my Xrite i1 Display Pro (retail) to use while I wait to receive my C6 meter within hopefully few weeks. The issue I'm getting for my LG Evo C3 77inch (firmware 03.31.45) is that the "Find Source" COULD NOT find the TV. It's giving me an error of, "Connection problem. Is ip address correct? Unkown exception". I opened the ports from my router, connected my laptop to ethernet... still gives me this error. Any ideas?
@Sonola777Ай бұрын
This just goes to show that measurements are one thing, and visual matching to a reference display is another. In a vacuum you might have calibrated your TV according to standards, and have great looking measurements on paper. And after all that, your image will look nothing like the reference display. This is where skill, a sharp eye for detail and colour judgment come in.

Great video sir. I have a problem regarding HDR calibration on my C2 with Calman & i1 Display Pro. I mainly use my monitor connected to my computer with an nVidia 4080. After calibrating HDR Cinema & HDR Filmaker, I notice that the color space is grayed out in the settings menu on Wide. And the colors on the Windows desktop are oversaturated, so I assume the screen is forcing Rec. 2020 on these two modes after calibration, which is good when I want to display videos & games in HDR. But once I switch to HDR Game, colors normally appear saturated on desktop, forcing the sRGB color space. But now my games and HDR videos look dull. Do you have any idea why Calman fixes HDR game mode to sRGB and Movie + Filmaker modes to BT2020 after calibration? Is there a way to enable BT2020 in HDR Game mode? THANKS
