HI Johnna I loved watching you go through the sewing box. I inherited my grandmother's Button box and all of her material. So cool to look through and I can even remember some of the clothes she made us with some of the buttons on them. So much fun. Hugs and blessings

great haul Johnna! "Beauty School Dropout" made me smile -- who didn't watch "Grease" 50 times?? lol... i checked thriftbooks for the "collage" book and it's almost 20$ so you probably got a good deal on that:) i'm jealous of the flashcard find!! ;) so cool....the Girl Scout handbook was waaaayyyy after i was in scouts and slightly before i was a leader, it looks really interesting!! Lots of great stuff to pull...Love to watch your videos, thanks for this one!! :) oh -- and Michael Card is amazing!! :) (Ellen)

In my little rural school in Oklahoma, we still have to turn in a hard copy of our lesson plans as well as grades and attendance.

Wow interesting - I think having a hard copy is smart- I’ve had a lot of computers crash where I lost everything. Not fun- thank you for sharing ❤

Good morning Joann. We have a connection! Back in the mid 70s my sister went to cosmetology school and she often needed a guinea pig.....her little sister (we had 9 years between us) was always a willing model however I was too young to be her model for her state boards. She ended up buying the beauty shop across the parking lot from the school and they moved it into their own building and hired my Mom to be the receptionist. She sold the business a few years later as they moved to WA and she no longer wanted to be a cosmetologist. She always did my hair for years and she was so good at it. She is now retired and has done so many different jobs but the most interesting was in the parole system. Isn't that crazy from hair to the courts! Great haul! I love your stories!
@ThePreppyCraftyGirl27 күн бұрын
Wow what a difference - beauty school to parole that’s so interesting- I could see to psychology because I remember when I did nails people would tell me their whole life story! 😅 Thank❤❤ you for sharing Teresa

Hi Johnna! Sorry I missed this live but loved catching you on the rerun! If you are not feeling it with the kitchen journals, maybe set two aside for you to work on another time and sell the rest? I think we all go through the moody creating. I have a time out corner for the journals or items that frustrate me or I am not in the mood to work on. Some sit there longer than others but I recently got that corner kind of cleared out. Go me! You have a ton going on so as Angela says, give yourself some grace ok? Hugs!
@ThePreppyCraftyGirl27 күн бұрын
I set them aside- I have everything pulled for the signatures, i just don’t feel like trimming them down and seeing them in 😂 oh well- I started on some other ones I have been wanting to do- I pulled out fabrics and just started working - I really love textiles- thank you for the advice Sandy I’ll definitely take it to heart. I do have a lot going on for sure.

Adorable kitten book! The swim caps are also super cool. I want one of the ones with flowers all over it too! :D Ah, Parakeet Peter, how sweet! I had the same Charlie Brown book and record combo/same story! Have you heard the recording?? I LOVED watching 3-2-1 Contact! It came on PBS after Sesame Street and Mister Rogers when I was a preschooler. It scared me sometimes, though -- ha! Thanks for sharing the rest of your haul! Fun stuff!

You were certainly lucky to find this estate sale! We have them here in WI but the ones I've been too were pretty expensive. I need to research my sales better- rookie me! We have so many estate sales in my area it’s crazy I can’t keep up. I’m getting way more picky now - I will only go to the ones that look a hoarder lived there, 😂which im sure will be on my epitaph hahaha- fortunately I am super organized and when one thing comes in one goes out. I think I get in the most trouble at the Goodwill bins because I know that that’s the last stop for all of it 🤦♀️huggs to everyone 🤗🤗

You had my whole life spread out on your table in this video. The Gregg shorthand books! When I graduated from high school, I took shorthand at 120 words per minute and typed 80 words per minute. I was a secretary for 20 years before I went to college to get my BSN. I still use shorthand every once in a while. The children’s books were amazing. I was seven when the one in 1955 was published! Other books, like the Postman Pig, were my daughter’s era. She and I loved Richard Scarry characters. I loved all of the little bits and bobs you found! Looking forward to the next video haul!

I’m so happy you saw so many things from your life in my haul- funny how something so small can trigger all the memories to come flooding back. My daughter loved the Richard Scarry books also ❤We have had an enormous amount of rain here as of late, so sadly I did not get to go out thrifting or estate sales. Maybe next week 🎉
