Perkins builder brothers are great. They are real professionals. If I may propose 2 more canal’s that you can watch if you have time, they also learn as they build, but they already finish their homes, so you can watch retroactive. Ambition strikes and This off grid life… They have explained a lot of problems and solutions they come to have.

Great video and you have great perspectives Biata! One of my favorite quotes is "If your mind can conceive it, and your heart can believe it, you know you can achieve it" Because think about it, . . . if you don't believe it, you won't even try or give it a full-hearted effort so how can you succeed? It is a great thing that your mother instilled that kind of thinking and attitude with you at a young age. Keep it up, you are working hard and plowing ahead with many projects. . . and piling up all kinds of successes !

The Perkin Bros are AWESOME!!!! I attended the same program Max is in now, Construction Management at Western Carolina University up in the 'Whee(Cullowhee)! I was up in Sylva and Whittier 2 weekends ago and my buddy and I snuck away and went to Bryson City Outdoors to pick up a Perkin Bros shirt and some stickers!!!! I stumbled upon your channel a few months ago as it was an auto play after I finished one of my morning playlist of the past weekend. You seem down to earth, a novice DIY'r(I am a DIY'r as well!), and you have a family as do I. So I am following along and learning a few things along the way and how different insulating is from region to region. Or some of the Building practices or materials are used and applied. I am 3.5 hours from the Perkins Bros and am familiar with framing and insulation codes for different areas of North and South Carolina since by trade, I am a Senior Estimator for a lumber company and we service say from Charlotte and 300-400 mile radius depending on the job type. I have quoted Hotels in northern Virginia we will ship to for the right price from another store in the area. Good luck on getting in the house! I hope you can get your CO. I would suggest to get your Bedroom and kids bed room as close to 100% to help establish a normal space for relaxation and for the kids, a space of no chaos... or mess maybe. Plus you wont have to move a ton of crap around and wont be sleeping in a work zone too. I have seen some customers that will build the Guest House or dettached garage first to allow them a place to live and keep the tools out of the weather and what not. But to have a "finished" living quarters can be your saving grace and mental boost you need knowing you can sleep in a completed room. Just remember, if you install your floors(any thing but rug/carpet) before you are done with EVERYTHING else, Ram Board is your friend and can help protect from scratches, mud, drywall mud, screws/gravel stuck in boots and such. But good LUCK!!!

You have an impressive skill set for a 30 year old. Congratulations. I enjoy watching your channel, and can sort of relate to some of your struggles. I never had the skills to build a whole new house but I have done much renovating

Yet another great video. So glad you have blocked the haters and unnecessary comments. Keep up the great work. Your home will be finished when it's finished and best to not rush things. Most people don't realize the million questions they need to answer seemingly before a build even starts, and building on your own means no double spending of labor when changes need to happen. Cheers Biata from a house designer in Muskoka.

I love watching the Perkins brothers also great show. Sorry to say, but if you don’t have someone to help you it will be difficult to reach your goal of moving in before winter. Drywall alone if you don’t know what you’re doing will take you a month or more plus the fact that it’s heavy and hard to move. Same with siding. But I hope you meet those goals.

I would have pros do the drywall in the main rooms - kitchen, big room, bathroom, bedrooms. Hanging and finishing that area would take my guy a week. It would take me 3 weeks and I do drywall routinely, but not large jobs, and it would take you over a month. You could do closets and other rooms. Not sure if you have thought this far ahead. As far as a painting party, I would only have experienced people help, and keep a sharp eye out. I am pushing for you to get inside before Christmas!!

Thanks so much! Definitely considering getting someone to hang it. It's hard hiring professionals this late in the game though. The good ones are booked out far
