One aspect that is obvious but not mentioned is that these pencils last indefinitely and won’t dry out! They last a long time since you only need a very small amount. They have more texture than water color pencils so there is more flexibility and range with color density.

I know you resist the label of artist when it comes to modelling, Mr. Walker, but I watch in amazement at your skilled craftsmanship. I am a recent, but now regular consumer of Model Club TV content, and have happily stumbled across your personal channel to tide me over between episodes of MCTV.

Thanks for he heads-up Jase . . . this seems like a great idea. Is there a way of ordering replacement bits when these eventually blunt-out? I'm also a bit concerned about the ability to replace the embedded rechargeable battery - or could you use it while plugged into a USB connection regardless? At the risk of stating the bleedin' obvious -this would be great for drilling out holes for brass-rod connectivity joints (where magnets are not the preferred option). PS: Is that a Takeya ALIEN arm I see on your bench? PPS: PLEASE do NOT drill with your fingers behind the piece you are drilling !!!!!! 😮 .

I did put a mild bleach solution on the somge and then rinsed it out along with pitting some strands of copper wire underneath and I haven't had any mold issues since. The sponge is really fragile. I tore it ringing it out, so don't do that :)

Never had a wet pallete before. How often do you change the paper? When there's no more clean space for new paint? What about the sponge? It looks interesting to say the least of something to possibly add... wish they would have them at Wonderfest
@jasonwalker75672 жыл бұрын
Change the paper whenever you need to basically, run out of space, start a new project or if it tears, which is rare. The sponges in all of them have lasted me a very long time. When they get really stained, I will swap it out.

Prompted by your mention on your other channel, I bookmarked this. Then just assumed I'd dreamt it when I got up this-morning (well - it HAS been 9 months! - what the heck ELSE have you been doing ?!?!?) Watched the movie once, and wasn't enamored enough to watch it again, but these sculpts/kits are amazing. The details are so crisp - especially for the small 1:24 scale. I know it says they are pressure-cast resin but surely some parts must have been 3D printed? - too small for regular GK methods of mold/cast? (although I suppose some of Galileo's (or Narin's) small-scale work had that sort of detail). Love the synced "camera in camera" style of this. Nicely done. I can tell how pleased you are to own these - I'd feel the same if anyone ever produced accurate likenesses of the characters (or the main ship) from "Red Dwarf" (or certain rock artists). I never have had the courage to approach the best known "likeness" sculptors in our community for fear of being rejected. You mentioned here AND in MCTV #33 that you were after others - which ones (either Dark Crystal or Labyrinth) are next on your list? - I quite like the 2 (slightly larger) 1:10 Skeksis busts (no antibiotic cream provided Scott!) Now paint the bloody things - it's about time we got to see some more of your talent/abilities! PS: The Clubhouse DOES still exist (in case you'd forgotten us) 🙂

I get swamped with everything and by the time I can sit down and paint it's like ehhhhh. I will get out of the slump I promise. There were a lot of great pieces coming out of this from Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. IF there is ever a way to buy them stateside I will jump on most. It is the shipping that kills it.

How would you sharpen it ? I know people say they like a sharp blade. I do as well. Some some things I use a duller blade ( this might sound crazzy at first ) Still yet to know what kind of paper is best. Im working with warhammer 40k here, there plastic regular type not metal or the forge world stuff.

You could probably use a curved sharpening stone or some sandpaper. A dremel tool might work too

The masterson paper is not meant for miniature paints at all. I think its meant for tube paints so its too thick and fibers get into the paint..
@proficyink21142 жыл бұрын
Dude its nice to see an older painter on here. Ive been painting on and off for longer than most of the kids are old haha. I just moved to Austin and hoping to find some older painters or modelers to hang with. I dont mind the younger painters some are amazing painters but the music they listen to is sometimes annoying and they can be a bit hyper for my liking haha great video. the problem I have is that my paint gets runny after just one night. I wish there was a way to keep the paint consistency I use a lot of tube paints like golden, liquitex and scale 75 artists and they all get runny like Vallejo air paints. I keep the lid off at night or drill holes in the top but it keeps getting runny. Any help with that? I subed and gave a thumb's up bro Michael P.S. what was the blue thing you used to smooth out the paper?

I think I see what happened with the Army Painter Palette. If you watch from about 24:35, you'll see that you've pushed down on the middle of the divider, flexing it quite considerably. That's probably when the paint transferred to the back of it. Probably best to make sure to keep pressure to the edges of that one when sealing it to stop that from happening.

Great work. What percentage of pigment do you use on average?
@jasonwalker75673 жыл бұрын

You had the middle lid on the Army painter palette on correct the first time. You got paint all over it because you pressed it when you were closing it up. I have had this palette for a year and that has never happened to me. Also, it seals even better when closed correctly.

@@jasonwalker7567 glad you are enjoying it. It's a solid piece of kit.
