A few others have noted it is a good idea to drain some coolant prior to starting, about 1 liter. Keeps the mess limited according the them. I'm about to start doing this and will try to drain some coolant first. Thanks for the easy to follow video.

I did drain about 1/2 gallon and had none come out of the thermostat area when I swapped it. Sweet.

Love the Z3 platform, and work you put in to it to get it back on the road. Last year there was one for sale for about 4k euros, and that was the 1/2 of the regular price. Since they are so expressive for a project car, I got myself and compact that has many similarities as the z3, and i'ts also fun to drive. Cheers mate!

If you have an actually damaged engine eg this car the only thing going to fix it is an engine rebuild no oil isz going to fix broken or worn metal if you using the Lucas before during regular intervals you probably wouldn't be having that issue also not sure where you hear you should use the thickest oil possible you should you manufacture recommended oil and mix lucas with that

do the upper control arms sit straight? after installing 2inch spindels
@chrisluvsu9 ай бұрын
yo bro, I have drop spindles only on the front, but I relocated my oem upper and lower control arms so it sits at a 4, I ordered and installed the 3" drop springs but it didn't lower at all, you think it's because of my relocated control arms or springs? I cut the oem springs and it lowered way more so I added the 3" drop springs and it sat at a 4 still even tho the springs were smaller than the ones I cut, I don't get it

Doesn't seem hardly worth it. Unless you just enjoy projects. Maybe I'm a bit off, but it seems like if you look around you can find a used one with 4 cylinder, automatic, and clear title for around 5-7 thousand. I picked up a a clear title 2.5 liter with manual a couple years ago for 7k with 60,000 miles.
