Hi there! To determine how much constitutes 70% meat, 10% squash, etc., in your dog's meal, begin by calculating the total daily food requirement based on your dog's weight. How? You can send us an email here: [email protected]

Amazing! How often can I switch up the protein in the cooked meals? Also if I feed raw can I just feed cooked here and there without any negative effects?

Hello! Well, you have flexibility in switching up the protein in cooked meals as often as you'd like but always monitor your dog to ensure they adjust well to any changes.

Good day Cam... I saw a video of yours in which you blend in raw protein and an assortment of vegetables into what looked like a salad. At the end you say that even if we were to substitute 10% (or 20%) of the regular quibble with it it would be of help for the dog. Can you please point me to the video? I cannot seem to find it... Regards and thanks for all the knowledge an for your love for dogs...

Thanks for all of the information. Considering the cooked vs. raw video where you discussed cooking causing meat to denature, why do you opt to cook it yours?
@thedognutritionist
@thedognutritionist 4 күн бұрын
Hi there, cooking meat causes proteins to denature, which changes its texture and flavor. I choose to cook meat for several reasons: it enhances safety by killing harmful bacteria, improves digestibility, and often enhances flavors through caramelization and Maillard reactions. Hope this helps!

@@thedognutritionist Thanks Cam, where did you study canine nutrigenomics? Glad for your experience - we've been dog parents for over 30 years and know we can feed iffy food for a long time before the results show up. We've been making our dog's food but she just got diagnosed with stage 3 Kidney disease and the vet has her on Hills prescription canned. I don't like what I've heard about the company and corn and pork by products come before turkey in the ingredients list. We're in search of a kidney friendly recipe. Forgive me for being cautious about the sources of our info and advice.

Believe it or not, my dog CHOSE to eat one meal a day. I used to always give her breakfast and dinner but she would never touch her breakfast and just gobble down her dinner. So now, I simply give her a raw meaty bone/frozen stuffed trachea around 11am and some enrichment game with treats at 2pm, then feed her daily allowance at 7:30pm. Not only has she been eager to eat again, she is also thriving with this diet - no more turning her nose up on food, no more refusing to eat.

I am getting frustrated with all these opposing views😞 I have heard that raw meaty bones can carry salmonella and dogs can choke on them or get a blockage. But then there is all those pros. Honestly don’t know what to do.

Regarding their pride food, I just want to make it clear that rainbow capitalism is very much a bad thing. Most companies will sell rainbow/LGBTQ+ related merchandise during June without actually doing much to support the community, they just do it for their own financial gain. However, I personally support the route that Lily's Kitchen has taken - 100% of their profits from that food go to a charity called Switchboard, until they raise a total of £26,000. Even if they don't reach that target, they'll still pay the difference. As well, their Love & Pride food is absolutely not a Nestle thing, it's been going on for years at this point (2018 is the earliest date I can find). I'm pretty sure they're actually giving more money to charity, too, since when they first started out by donating to Stonewall, they were only giving between 30p and 75p per tray or tin instead of 100% of their profits.
