Why can’t they just have whoever gets to the intersection first? Seems like there’s extra rules where there doesn’t need to be

This rule also applies in the Nederlands and in my opinion is extremely dangerous has caused many accidents and fatalities. There is a simple answer put a give way sign either on the road or a give way sign board so drivers don’t have to think too hard about the right of way. Drivers should always give way to traffic from the left in Europe and the right in the UK imagine you are driving down the road let’s say at night in the rain and you are not familiar with the area and all of a sudden the car pulls out in front of you trust me this happens bang or something worse, this scenario would be eliminated if the above were applied give way signs. Clear communication with the Driver.

I was pulled over at work this morning for pulling out in front of a police van on a small roundabout with the arrow even though I had right of way. The way I was spoken to is just so wrong. Walked over to my car hand in his jacket and chewing gum, No hello, no nothing but instead just "why did you do this?".. No explanation or what it was he suggested I did and I was generally confused actually but when I asked what it was I had done, the police officer explained I pulled out when he was entering the roundabout and should have given him way and so I said no, that roundabout is a give way to your right and I was on your right and had time also, so it was my priority. I said it in a non judgement or bad way, just a general way as mistakes happen, who cares? "Ok I do not believe that and so I will check right now, you must wait here and I will need your passport, documents and all paper work for the vehicle ready and do not drive away". I waited, he turned his van round and went back to the roundabout, drove round it and then sped past me until the main road and drove away. I mean what the hell? I was not bothered about being right, I was more bothered about being left there after getting told to wait with all of my papers and passport and the way I was spoken to. I am working from 1am until 9am out on the road and really do not need somebody treating me like shit when I have done nothing wrong. Good video, I only passed my driving test here in Germany a few months ago and so actually I wanted to just double check today now I have woken up after getting in from work, I was indeed right, just in case. Sadly with my work and the hours I see these police all of the time, the roundabout is in a small industrial type of area, just my luck for us to have met at that exact moment I guess. Anyway even though I have passed and driven a couple of months, I still see many new things and am actually learning lol
