@RonSpohn Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words Sanjay. The 360° photo on Google Maps is actually part of a large 360° virtual tour I created for the Cook Islands. You can view it here: visit.cookislands.travel/

Hey Ron! I just saw your work on street view and I'm astonished how good the quality is and wanted to ask what equipment did or do you use to take pictures that good?
@RonSpohn2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words Glizzy. I shoot with a Canon DLSR and pano head mount for the ground shots. For aerial stills, I used either an Inspire 1 Pro x5, or a Mavic Pro 2. The 360 photos you saw on street view are part of a huge ongoing virtual tour project I do for Cook Islands Tourism. You can see it here: visit.cookislands.travel

@@RonSpohn Thanks for the quick reply! That looks beautiful!! The Idea itself is genius and I love to see the 360° tours getting more recognition, especially in the Tourism niche. But I have another question, sorry if I'm bothering you but how do you edit out the pano head it looks so perfectly clean!
@RonSpohn2 жыл бұрын
@@glizzyotb679 I shoot a down angle and stitch the photos in PTGui. PTGui removes the tripod. I do not use a point and shoot 360 camera. I use a DLSR and shoot multiple angles.
@glizzyotb6792 жыл бұрын
@@RonSpohn Wow thanks I didn't knew that it's possible to shoot with a DLSR. Do you need a Fisheye Lens for that or how does that work?
@RonSpohn2 жыл бұрын
@@glizzyotb679 Yes, fisheye lens is best. Check out the PTGui site. There are tutorials to show you how to shoot and stitch. ptgui.com/

This "bloody yank" has been to the Cook Islands' Raro and Aitutaki (& loved them) but the more I hear about this Atiu island, the more interesting and unique it sounds. I imagine Atiu must be a very relaxing, mellow, out-of-the-way place with its own quiet pace of life. Meitaki Ma'ata!
@RonSpohn Жыл бұрын
Hi Nathan: Atiu is beautiful! It is the actual island Captain Cook first discovered in the Cook Islands. And, yes, they are named after Captain Cook although he never actually set foot on the island. :) My Atiu video is part of a series. I created aerial films and a 360° virtual tour of the Cook Islands for Cook Islands Tourism. You can view the 360° virtual tour here: visit.cookislands.travel/

What a beautiful Island this is. I can only imagine how my late father feels. he always wanted to go back to were he's from. the Island of his nativity. most importantly, in his later years. I'm humble and sad at the same time. that he never live out his wish of returning. I suppose it's to most of us. So closed yet, so far!!!!
