Enzo has been injured the entire season . he played through injections & pain . Enzo is world class issue is how to make him connect with Caicedo
@florme6494
@florme6494 13 сағат бұрын
I feel I should mention we have been playing the box midfield in build up the whole season. Only now we invert Cucurella. Prior the box midfield was Caicedo next to Enzo. Palmer next to Gallagher. Sterling and Gusto high and wide. Cucu/Colwill was playing as the third CB. When Cucu played at some points Gusto and Cucu would/could swap roles. We changed the tactic of rest positioning when we weren’t scoring, allowing Enzo to follow the ball into the box once one of the front 3 were attacking with the ball in the opposition 3rd. Creating an extra player of the 2 10’s overloads down the wings. This was because they didn’t need to be in the box to finish the move knowing Enzo would be there. Now you will still see one of the 2 6’s in build up making a burst on or off the ball to create overloads down the wings. This is because unlike Enzo, Cucu and Caicedo don’t have the same shooting ability. But the big difference to me has been both Caicedo and Cucu take turns making it harder for the opponent to see patterns. Gallagher also being able to contribute as a destroyer in the counter press, but yet still having the warrior mentality in a deeper block. This means we loose nothing in the counter press, only gain more with Cucu. In the deep block we now have Gallagher, Caicedo, Cucu and Trev who all have the warrior mentality of diving in front of a ball to make a bloke. We have also noticed Noni putting in a shift helping lock down the right. No one in our team apart from Silva is as masterful as Enzo in build up. But it turns out, build up is not as important as the energy, the fight and tighter lines in the defence. The creativity that comes from Palmer and Noni has been at another level. Caicedo is now looking like a new player in possession. He knows that he is covered when moving to make space or when making driving runs (similar to what Kante use to).

100% agree with the point about warrior mentality. The difference in Caicedo, Trev and cucu since they’ve gained a bit of confidence has been incredible and they look like new signings. Hopefully we keep Trev next season as I think he’s developing into a brilliant cb who can play rb, and would suit playing alongside Colwill. Agree with Caicedo looking a bit like kante did too in that midfield role, I like how he is willing to drop to the right of the back 3 to allow one full back to invert whilst the other pushes high too. Regardless of Gallaghers occasionally poor decision making and ball playing abilities, for me his work off the ball in the counter press and orchestrating the teams press is essential and I think a key reason to why chelsea have such a low PPDA. I’ve also been impressed with Noni. His tracking back and sometimes in a wing back position of a back 5 in a low block has to me proved his determination to work hard. I think sometimes he’s a bit selfish and his final pass needs to be an area of development but he’s certainly shown growth already this season and looks more mature. I almost like seeing him get annoyed when he’s subbed off, i just didn’t like the fight with Jackson for the penalty a few weeks ago. The only thing I partly disagree on is the box midfield. I’m not denying it wasn’t there but I don’t think it was as essential before as it is now. I think sometimes it became a box midfield when palmer drifted into the number 10 role but that was purely because of the free roam he had, as sometimes he would stay wide with the attacking full back, other times he would drop to rcm to pick the ball up etc whereas now it’s much more structured and used purposefully imo. But also like I mentioned in the video against spurs, I liked seeing palmer and noni both playing as wingers and overloading that side, but I know with gusto that would change.

Gallaghers importance has been grossly exaggerated in this new 3-2 build up system, the player in that role HAS to be a DLP which Enzo is the best itw at You saying “forcing” Enzo is very absurd to be very honest
@cameronschultz2219
@cameronschultz2219 13 сағат бұрын
If we’re playing with a DLP then yes it has to be Enzo I agree, but I’m scared that Poch will then move Gallagher to the number 10 and palmer on the right and i don’t personally believe that’s a good trade off. I also think against low block oppositions Gallagher should play because of his high intensity work rate and pressing. Obviously Enzo is one of the best midfielders in the world I agree with that, and he’s our best asset for controlling the game but I don’t love the position he would have to play in the 4231. I think he’s better suited to a 442 or a 433 style of football imo 🤷‍♂️

Why did the referee add so many minutes on top of what was already added? Would the ball have gone in if the referee hadn't whistled? Would Bayern have resisted Real Madrid's push in a possible extension of match time? I think that Real Madrid was the fair winner.

Really good analysis of how both teams are playing and of the match overall. You should have stopped at emphasizing the mistake of the referee team in blowing the whistle for offside against Müller. However, it was indeed offside so it wouldn't have made any difference - only the part of the body you can score with counts ✌🏾

"That goal would stand", we don't know that, we don't know that there would have been a goal, as a good chunk of Madrid's defenders stop at the whistle, same for Lunin in the cage, you can't keep that from the story, that is the reason they can't go for the VAR review, because the action stops at the referee's whistle.
@cameronschultz2219
@cameronschultz2219 5 күн бұрын
I get that but the ref blew the whistle which then means the following play can’t be VAR checked, if they let the play continue like they should have then they can determine whether the goal was offside or not after, maybe the defenders would’ve blocked the shot I know but based on what actually happened, I think the offside call was wrong personally or at least should’ve been checked. The referee has also since apologised saying it was the wrong call too 🤷‍♂️
@tecnicaaa
@tecnicaaa 4 күн бұрын
Agreed. You can’t say if the ref didn’t blow his whistle. It’s a goal if it goes to var. the sequence of events that occurred due to ref blowing his whistle is that the Real players stopped playing. There’s so much uncertainty surrounding this wether or not a goal is scored if the ref didn’t blow his whistle. People acting like it’s 100% a goal when it’s not. The only thing that is certain was the ref and the linesman made a mistake. This was a good video analysis until he said “it’s a goal if it goes to var”

I get what your saying, if the ref hadn’t blown his whistle and let play on, the defenders would’ve carried on and potentially blocked the shot etc so there would’ve been no goal and I totally agree with that. My point was more the fact that the referee shouldn’t have have blown his whistle so early because the phase of play wasn’t clearly offside so Bayern should’ve at least got to finish their attack before the play is stopped. Maybe they still score, maybe they don’t, it’s still a mistake by the referees that harmed Bayern…😅

Gravenberch n Mac Allister can never be a double pivot. We’d get played through with ease. I disagree on Bernardo. He absolutely should get criticized. If you're gonna miss a pen, at least make the keeper work for it. My grandma could have caught that ball. Let's look at the best penalty taker ever: Ronaldo. How many pens did Ronaldo take down the middle? Almost none, right. Because he knew all you need to do is to take a good shot. It's not a guessing game as much as people like to claim. There are multiple spots across that goal where if you place it, the keeper won't be able to save it regardless of whether or not he dives the right way. Bernardo Silva is an extremely gifted footballer. There is no excuse in terms of not having the technical ability to put it in the top corner, or the bottom corner. If Rüdiger could do it, Silva should be able to as well.

What you explained about Kroos is why Tchouameni is so important at CDM. I can't believe Ancelotti played Tchouameni as a CB instead. Once I saw the lineup I knew it was a mistake. Tchouameni and Rudiger have the best positional awareness in our whole team. Now Tchouameni is suspended. Kroos and Camavinga have their strengths obviously, but defensively they don't have the positional awareness to pick up off-ball runs and anticipate plays. De Bruyne will be able to pick up more runs with his passing. The only way to mitigate this would be by tucking Valverde and Camavinga as the defensive midfielders and have their high work rate and tackling ability compensate for their lack of awareness, and then have Kroos/Modric and Bellingham play as the attacking midfielders in a 4-2-2-2 formation. Whether we win or not depends on how we sort out this problem because Man City doesn't present any other threat we can't deal with.

Thank you for the insight that was interesting to read from a Madrid fans perspective. I completely agree with you and De Bruyne is going to be crucial in a game like that for Man City. I think a 4222 would be a good choice, but would you go for Valverde on the right of the 2 defensive mids and Bellingham as the right attacking mid so it can defend in a 442 or would that just lead to similar problems like In the first leg? And what’s your score prediction because I think I’ve heard more people lean towards a Madrid win? 😅😀

@@cameronschultz2219 Honestly, I think Ancelotti’s setup was excellent. Problem is, he sometimes asks players to play in areas they aren’t comfortable playing in. We get it right sometimes, but it also frequently goes wrong. Valverde playing as a CM in a 4-4-2 position defensively is his natural position, and he and Camavinga have the fitness to keep up with Man City’s dynamic midfield for the entire game even though they don’t have the awareness to read playing patterns like Tchouameni. Kroos doesn’t have the fitness to keep up with the position, and he will start to leak chances in the second half again, like the first leg and last season. I think Rodrygo should be in the right and Vini on the left, and Bellingham and Kroos should be ahead of the four midfielders. At least this way, once we regain possession we can keep it, because if you remember in the first leg second half Pep had fixed his backline in a way we couldn’t counter attack. So I don’t think we’ll be able to counter attack easily in the second leg. We need to keep the ball when we win it back. And we won’t do so when we recover the ball with Rodrygo and Vini as the front 2 in the 4-4-2 defensive formation. We’ll just be clearing the ball back to City like what we did in the second half. Because I am biased I will go for a Real win 0-2, but it depends on Ancelotti because everyone knows how Pep will set up 🤣

Great analysis! Arnold would fly in this Amorim tactical system. Amorim has a 20M release clause though...

Cheers bro I appreciate that, I think the freedom Trent would get would elevate his game even more but like you say, it won’t come cheap but he could be a great investment if it pays off 😅
