Thank you for your efforts making this video. If I'm not mistaken, and as I understand the explanations later in the video, at 0:33 seconds, the Cathode of the zener should be connected to the positive voltage potential. I believe this makes use of the specific reververse brakedown characteristic of zeners.

At 13:02 You have a 220 Ohm resister on the breadboard rather than a 330 Ohm/1K as in the schematic?

great lesson.... now....can we modify this so the LED is replaced with a enough juice to turn on relay, for 10sec THEN, turn off, and AUTOMATICaLY REPEAT EVERY HOUR?// until power is disonnected?/ my water fall evaporates considerably when its hot i want to filk it ever hr till night ⛲🍺👍

In the first part (2:30) you connect the battery of 12V directly to drain, but in simulation (5:09) you connect it to DC motor. Which one is correct?

It is exactly what I need. Many beginners video explained the electronics part and circuit separately. Usually only the electronic part and number calculation, but not the Circuit. And then suddenly showing the Circuit as it ever been explained in the videos. This video is a big help, I love it!

At the two minute mark why is a resistor required in the circuit. If the input to the diode is 5 V, then why not just connect the diode directly to the output of the voltage regulator?

Can you tell the value or specification of the NTC? I search online store and says something like 5D- 15 , 10D-25, etc. So I don't know which one to pick.

In a simple circuit with a battery+ resistor+led,the led acts as a resistor and + the first resistor,it becomes a voltage divider,right?! So in that circuit the current is the same as the battery,only the voltage drops,right?! Is my understanding correct?
@kuro758Ай бұрын
No, there are many things incorrect in your understanding. -A resistor is used in series with LED to limit the current flowing through the LED. LEDs cannot handle lot of current and they will fry if the current is not limited. -Remember V=IR. This means if the voltage drops, and the resistor does not change, then the current has to drop. So this resistor not only drops the voltage but limits the current, which is its main purpose. -An LED does not act as a resistor. In some cases it is used as a diode but don't worry about it for now. -A voltage divider is a bit different than anything shown in this video, and I suggest you understand voltage, current & resistors before learning about voltage divider, it will make it easier.

Zeners can't replace even simplest voltage regulators. Their breakdown voltage is unpredictable, they are drifting with temperature, their current is typically low.
