308 I is otherwise a shit car. This car should be avoided. 308 II and III are much better and totally different products than this first generation 308, which is horrible. The most annoying thing with the 308 I is the turning signal sound. Fortunately in the 2nd generation It sounds much more like a traditional turning signal sound and It’s otherwise a much better car to drive. Peugeot 308 I = Bullshit, avoid It! 👎👎👎🤮🤮🤮

@@TPc0 you can try 5w40 or 10w40 but make sure it is C2(what you have now) or whatever classification your car needs, where you live also plays a role as it does for me I can't put much thicker oil in my car because it becomes like grease when the temperatures reach below -25°C during the winter, but if you live where temperatures rarely go below -5°C you can put a lot thicker oil in the engine.

Thank you! That sound was driving me insane. I was really glad to find it was a common problem - I had been thinking I'd have to pay lots of money to repair it. I also have the fuel filter problem you were talking about with other people: you mentioned your Dad improved that with fuel additives? Could you tell me what he used? I spent several hundred £ at my garage a year ago to try and improve that - not actually changing the filter but doing other stuff they said would help. But recently I've noticed the engine is fluctuating RPMs and when cold the RPMs will suddenly surge for a moment, like jump from 2k to 3k in a fraction of a second when I'm accelerating at around 30-40 mph in 3rd gear
@alexandernevalainen
@alexandernevalainen Жыл бұрын
my father had the diesel engine and the filter we where talking about was the particle filter in the exhaust, the additives makes the exhaust hotter thus burning the soot deposits in the filter. my Peugeot doesn't have an in-line fuel filter but it does have a permanent filter on the fuel pump armature in the gas tank, replacing the fuel filter ends up in replacing the fuel pump. when i had acceleration problems, i unplugged all the wiring connectors on the engine and sprayed them with contact cleaner for electronics that also dissolves corrosion and it helped until now, need to do it again and properly blow out the connectors with compressed air then put some sort of grease to prevent further moisture intrusion, sometimes there is great hesitation when accelerating but it has only been when there has been moist weather and then a sudden freeze. when i cold start the car the rpm is too high to creep around the parking lot in second gear but that only last for less than a minute before it calms down.

The AAZ engine has the same mounts as the original diesel. Here in Sweden we had to put a strut bar on the front struts for the car to be accepted in the registration and also had to have a paper from VAG that this would work and be safe.

@@alexandernevalainen Nice. I'm in California and have a 2005 1.8t AWP engine and 02J trans I swapped in my mk2 with g60 mounts, but it's basically impossible to register with out the mk4 emissions evap stuff on the mk4 fuel tank. Was thinking of putting the 1.9 AAZ in it instead because here they don't care about emissions if it's a pre 1998 diesel. Silly laws

Hey Arto! I have the same issue with the model f i recently bought. I've been trying to find a good replacement foam from finland but thus far i haven't found anything suitable. Have you tried replacing the foam, and if so, what material did you use/where did you get it from??

I found a working replacement foam at work. it is about 3mm thick and not at all like the original foam, it was very stiff and certainly a workout to reassemble the board with it but the outcome was a very nice clicking and firm keyboard. look at packaging foam and you will find something similar
