The ending definitely affects my overall rating for a thriller and if I can predict some twists and reveals it will surely lower my rating!! I

Yes, the ending of a book does affect how I rate a book, especially a thriller. My least fave thing in a thriller is when the villain spends pages and pages explaining why they did what they did.

The ending for a thriller for mi does determine my rating for a thriller like for mi to give a thriller five stars a thriller ending has to shock mi make mi gasp n there has to be seeds planted through out the book for the plot twist to make sense to mi bc if ur gonna just give mi a plot twist n not make mi think that this person could have done it or at least some type of hint then that will determine my rating just like when I finished middle of the night by Riley sager The ending of that book just wasn't it I gave that book 2 stars 😂😂 and the chamber by will Dean that books does sound good might pick that book up

The part about the c sections feels kinda invalidating?? Idk how to describe it. Like women already get shamed for having c sections and I think the book saying that it’s not supposed to happen is not it. I’m sensitive about c sections anyway because I was born from one but yeah (and i definitely relate to my zodiac so)

I agree! I was also born through c-section so am definitely a bit more sensitive to it. That part of the book definitely shocked me… but I am also not into astrology much at all sooo I don’t mind skipping this book. But that’s just me😅

Best thing to do if you aren't feeling a book early on is DNF. There's just no reason to force yourself through it. It makes me not want to read anything when that happens Also how the hell are you walking and reading at the same time 😂

I feel the same way about thrillers. The ending has to wow me to give it a 4 or 5 star rating.

The ending of a book to me is the best part of the book and most the time I get it right, but it does affect my rating if the book ends in a crazy way that’s just not part of the book I feel I’ve rate it low and I like the author it’s a letdown. it also can affect my mood for reading.

I could see comparing Diavola to Ready or Not as well for the toxic family elements and possibly the Honeys book by Ryan La Sala.

Bright Young Women was a favorite of mine. I love how the author also calls out how by calling them ‘smart’ is a way of absolving the people who outright ignored, belittled, and turned a blind eye to the man for so long. Can’t quite admit that the person was just lucky when you’re the reason now can you?

I gave Home is where the bodies are 3 stars, which isn’t a bad rating for me and I really enjoyed it. I’m a little late on this vlog but I would love to see you read A Flicker In the Dark by Stacy Willingham. These two books were very similar to me and I would love to hear your thoughts on them! ❤

I absolutely loved both Just for the Summer and Funny Story, actually I read one after the other and for me Funny Story is on my top of the year and Just for the Summer gets the honorable mention. Daphne and Miles made an impression on me, and I had some of the same issues as her, so it was comforting to see her finding her way. But the mother of all plot twists on Just for the Summer? I screamed!

I have read two 5 star series this year, which is very surprising since I am terrible at finishing series. Ancillary Justice trilogy by Ann Leckie is an amazing Sci-fi series, the way she treats gender is really interesting and at no time in the series was I bored. It constantly pushes you forward and the characters are amazing. The Bergman Brothers (and 2 sisters) series by Chloe Liese is probably my favorite romance series ever. I finished all 7 books in 8 days, I couldn't put them down. Great characters with a good insight into chronic illness, autism spectrum, hearing impairment, ADHD and anxiety. They are all so good.
