Hello. You mentioned that Isaac will be working by himself in the workshop. Our crew chief would never allow one person to work alone, in case of personal injury accidents.

If I can clean all the plastic and glass of about 2 windows or a door , a day. Every day in 30 years in the window industry then it would not be a big chore to get a little warm water with a dash of washing up liquid and some jif on the tough marks and clean those grubby oil marks off that plastic. I will be having a camera fitted over the way so I can check it every day from now on.

Lee, as I see it, mind you I'm not an engineer or car builder, just an old retired military electronics tech. The kit car needs to have either the engine or the diff repositioned to get everything on a dead straight line with each other. With a drive line as short as you have anything other than dead on straight will cause the same thing happening.

My bird bomb story : 3 days after painting my 68 Camaro I went for lunch downtown and parked between glass buildings & under power lines. 1 1/2 hours later there was NO black paint to be seen on the roof that was baking in the sunlight off the glass. I was lucky & got it washed quick enough to save the paint job. Have a great weekend Lee & I agree with the others who are enjoying Isaac on the other channel!

There's often a difference between nicely made fabricated parts, and being well engineered. One looks wonderful, the other works wonderfully. The best of both worlds is what we hope for. Good engineering means the loads that are placed on the component are understood and compensated for in the design.

It's hard to know who your true friends are until the friendship gets tested. Go broke, or say no to what someone wants is often a test. Your true friends will always stick with you regardless. That said though if I'm a sociopath, a narcissist and I abuse my friends, I will in fact lose real friends. We cannot expect anyone to endure our abuse.

A place I used to work at had the carpark immediately south of the office building. Birds ( mostly seagulls ) liked to sun themselves on the roof of the office, then 'unload' themselves as they launched off into flight - right over the first couple of rows of parked cars...

I'm working at the same type of engine at the minute, I had a look at it and it looks exactly the same as the one in the video at 3:20, its a line in the casting whatever way they mould the Aluminium
@mfree802866 сағат бұрын
@@madeljacky From the texture it's a lost foam casting, they're set together in sections and will have a flashed parting line that gets (usually) tumbled off with a vibratory bed and ceramic media.

Regarding bird bombs; years ago we were at a friends parents cabin at the lake. I mixed a fresh drink and walked back out on the deck. Within 1 minute a robin flew over and dropped a bomb direct in my glass. Had not had one sip from the drink yet. Poured the drink overboard and mixed another. You would think the birds are dropping smart bombs.

@leebrand217218 сағат бұрын
The fact that it's a friend or not is somewhat irrelevant :-) It essentially boils down to individual integrity. You will come across a number of really exceptional people in your lifetime. Some may be friends, others simply off the street :-)
@TonyRule22 сағат бұрын
The "no friends in business" goes both ways. As a customer it's important to maintain an aloof professional relationship where you're not worried about upsetting the business owner when stating your expectations and requiring remedy if they fall short. I've encountered a few that will take it personally, one even tried to assault me for blighting their ego, but that's a 'them' problem.

And never be fooled in to believing the manufacturers and their agents are true friends. As soon as they realise you are doing well with one of their products they will waste no time pushing it to your competitors. Keep your cards close to your chest.

All seems so complicated. I owned a 1967 Elan S3 for 18 years. It was burning oil so I took everything apart and replaced the rings. Working in a small garage with the car on ramps. I don't know how i did it, but I did. I also reshimmed the valve clearances a few times. Must have been OK as I recently checked and the car is still registered.

If you do not know how to use a machine, leave it to a skilled man. I am amazed you get any customers at all. You treat your customers with contempt.
@black5fКүн бұрын
I have a coffee machine like that, fresh beans! I had a '96 td4, it had 50k when I got it, I put another 150 on it in 20 years. The only thing that went wrong in 20 years, water pump dribble, and the bypass rubber tubes started to leak a bit, that was it. Then LR ceased to be anything at all to do with the UK. The TD5 has always been awful, short life expectancy, and a load of junk. The V6? If your making cars, and your plan .... is to put a Citroen / Peugeot engine (which have a long and unbroken record of being a complete load of junk) in a Land Rover, you should pretty much just give up making cars and go do something else. The K series engines were always rubbish as well, they are designed to dump the oil out immediately after you fill it up. It would be far cheaper to fit another proper engine.

Absolute truth Lee! I've seen it as I'm at an age where its harder to get contracts doing what I do, being a white male in South Africa, and suddenly loads old friends disappear... Then you look at things and think how many times did I have a meal by them, and how many times did they pop over and we cooked up steaks etc over the fire. Now that my fridge ain't full and other stuff is not available to give they're gone!... Glad I learned sooner than longer...re. amount of work. As a business owner you always going to be worried. You either just have enough work now but what about next month, or we too busy how we going to get it done, or we a little quiet (which chgs by the hour)!?
