Depends on the expectations and the wishlist count! If you have 10k wishlists and expect 1k sales in the first week, 100 is definitely not a lot But 100 was for sure a lot in this case

so you have 300 units sold, 900 wishlists, 3k gross revenue and a really cool looking game in a fun genre. why launching with so little number of wishlists ? have you tried steam nextfest with a demo or anything to gather more wishlists ?
@TheShelfman
@TheShelfman 19 сағат бұрын
The marketing was surprisingly tough for this game pre-launch I did do next fest and it got me most of my wishlists, but people just didn't want to cover it really. Only a couple of people did, which was awesome obviously but didn't do much for the game. It was disappointking, and scared me for launch, but I also saw it as a learning opportunity. So I now know better what to do with my next game!

I love people that hold Lav mics and talk into them. LOL They are designed to clip it and forget it, man. Maybe it's a comfort thing? \_(O_O)_/ The first question you have to ask yourself, "Is my product marketable?" If the answer is yes then share, share, share, and share some more. The more exposure you get the more of a return you will receive. Keep in mind though who your target audience is. We as creators like to think that it's everyone but in reality, it isn't. Don't waste your time and energy in a place where it shouldn't be focused. If you've done it properly and everyone has answered your CTA then your product, whatever it may be, will explode, in a good way, on launch. Steam and Epic are fairly easy to gauge, they both have a Wishlist option. :) Wishlist = CTA. Happy creating, everyone!

There are differences. First, many people dislike shorts and try to avoid it, install plugins that remove them etc. Second, many users probably browse/watch shorts the same way they watch videos: they look for an interesting one on a main page or search for it. That's different than a stream of tiktoks autoplaying for you. You make a (somewhat) conscious decision to watch a specific short.

if you don't want to set up a green screen and have an NVIDIA GPU, you can use NVIDIA broadcast to move the background form anywhere. If your using a camera it might be possible to feed any recorded footage through the program using OBS as a virtual camera and then capturing the output using another instance of OBS. The funny thing is that tik-tok first shows your videos to locals, in my case Hungarians - and it does not consider language. Congratulations on your success! I wanted to tell you something that I don't know if you had taken into account. As the name of your game has a French character (I think, the "â"), that could be playing against you. After watching your video I tried to search for the game on Steam, but nothing came up, because I was typing a simple "a". When you edit your game page in Steam, there is a section called "Search Keywords". I think it might be worth adding your game name there without the â, so you can make sure it shows up for people even if they misspell it.

@lollol012
@lollol012 Күн бұрын
@@TheShelfmanI understand why it's called that way, but god help me if it isn't one of the most puke inducing names for me personally. Literally any game without combat and with a warm enough color scheme gets slapped with the "cozy" buzzword nowadays. Also, without calling out names, a *lot* of the "cozy" games are just boring as fuck, and they were clearly only designed to be "cozy" because the game designer was too talentless to add in more challenging mechanics (which, surprise, are harder to balance and make fun), and that person understood it, so they went all-in on the "cozieness" rather than actual fun gameplay. This isn't the case with all such games, obviously, but it applies to a large enough percentage to irreversibly taint this buzzword even farther.
@Uhfgood
@Uhfgood Күн бұрын
@@TheShelfman - Cozy is not a genre, it's an adjective. Meaning snug and/or warm, and synonymous with "comfortable". I don't feel snug or warm playing any kind of game. If it's pleasant and/or stress-free, still doesn't mean cozy. I've been watching a lot of game development related content, and it's only been within the last year or so that I've even heard of it referring to a type of game.
