What a Glorious Day in London & a Perfect way to Start a Week for the Crowds lining the Mall! DM Stu Laing looks a picture Striding Down the Mall with the Band of The Grenadier Guards, Impressive & Sounding Good. I note at 2:14 the Time Beater signals to reduce Volume & Instantly, Collectively that happened, without a pause, now that right there is Perfect Discipline & Control! Very well done People! Great Job! It doesn't always happen like that. Ah Alderflug! one of my Favourite Marches at 2:48 & to add to the enjoyment, the Fantastic sight of a Squadron of Blues & Royals Cavalry heading up to Horse Guards for their own Guard Change. The Respect shown to the Regimental Colours of the Regiments of the Household Division by each other is something Special to see as the Cavalry pay Compliments (3:00+) to the Colour that Nijmegen Company are Marching under today & also something very Formal & British & tells it's own Story of the History behind The British Army. Oh Excitement! My Favourite Foot Guards Band, the Irish Guards! I haven't seen them for 2 weeks, so am pleased to see them again, always an enjoyable experience. I see DM Sam Potts is leading them up to Buckingham Palace with the New Guard, I'm pleased to see his Energetic Style is making a controlled reappearance, it was what grabbed my attention in the 1st place & together with his Crisp new Signals & Flourishes he's quickly becoming a very nice & different DM Package to watch. At the Step off from Wellington Barracks, I was straining to hear if My Favourite Bass Trombonist, Sgt. David Lockwood was playing today, while all the Bass Section sounded Great, I couldn't hear him, but Yes he's there, back on the End. The Band of the Irish Guards didn't disappoint anyway, sounding & looking Great as they headed up to Buckingham Palace with the New Guard Mounted by the Coldstream Guards, who looked Magnificent with some very Snazzy Drill. Thanks Mr AFV! A great job on the Video & I didn't feel anything was missing. A beautiful Day in London & a treat to see a during the week Change from there. Hope you had a good trip in!

Hi Vicky, I just thought you’d like to know, 2:48 is actually the March ‘Old Comrades’ (Alte Kameraden) and not ‘Flying Eagle’ (Adlerflug). Both German marches though!

I freely admit to Stop Starting the Video, to note down all I saw, Not a Good thing to do & as you can see eventually it bites you on your Bum! I like both Marches, both feature highly on my list of Favourites, they deserve better Attention! Thanks for the Correction, I appreciate it!

I've watched lots of these videos. Why does the band always have a single guardsman marching in one of the ranks (usually about 5 or so ranks back) without any instrument whatsoever?

Another brilliant video AFV, as you usually do, with Welsh Guards and Irish Guards musical support togheter, beautiful marches played, led by the Incomparable SDM CHAMBERS, the Iconic Gareth Chambers!! I'm not so knowledgeable - as many here are - about all the musical instruments & more, but undoubtedly the Irish Band is really excellent, having noticed it in other videos. Anyway, Changing Guards are always spectacular! Thanks again.

He is simply unique!! That's only my opinion. Grazie for the lovely video❤
