For TDC you insert a blocking pin (special tool) into a hole in under the startermotor and a cerresponding hole in thw flyweel. At the front of the engine there is no TDC mark.

Nicely done Jon. Wasn't aware of the potential issue raising the car via the diff. The other jacking points you recommended are what I use. If only Coombes Jonston BMW in Hamilton would watch this video, then they wouldn't have damaged my front sills, failed my warrant, and insisted on a panel beaters structural report. Keep up the good work.

Yes I did, if you intend to use the same style of aftermarket tank. The filler neck at the tank needs adjustment and be careful not to damage the tank ,otherwise it fouls on the subframe, cheers Jon

Hey jon im extremwly desperate to know ro the F do i change my cabin fan resistos its not the same as on the 6 cylinders i discovered i have a 89 318i M40 car and i canf find a manual or good info anywere ive gone to the point to just take apart the whole dash just to try and figure out how it works if you have info or goods tips pls write back. -Stefan

Hi Stefan, sorry for the late response , traditionally the blower resister in the later E30 was located by the blower motor- bulkhead. However you may have the style where the resister is located in the heater box ,in the cabin, left side ,under dash and above the heater Tap,it's a brown square block. Hope you manage to locate it and got it sorted. Cheers Jon

@@das.bmw.mechaniker oh and also while i have you here i am looking into replacing my transmission in mine since mine is whining like crazy now i have heard that the pre 1990 does not have a overdrive on 5th and only the older ones like my 89 have overdrive is this true or false and can i use either ttrans in my car its a manual btw

@@das.bmw.mechanikeralso to remove the cabin blower is it roughly the same as the m20 cars im very careful now since i akready broke the litle plastic piece that holds the "lid" shut over the fan ill haft to glue that back if i can

Hi Jon, I’m running this exact setup in my 88 convertible. Pulls like a train, but still running the stock 2.5 ECU and I always feel like there’s more there to give but not sure how to unlock it. Any hints on a better ECU option for the stroker?

I have heard excellent reports from Sssquid chip tunes. If you aren't already running a 272 cam you are leaving a lot on the table as well.

With the 130mm rod (-5mm) and 9mm more stroke (+4.5mm throw) the piston sits 0.5mm further below deck than a stock m20b25. It’s a good idea to machine a bit more off deck or use thinner gasket to optimise CR and squish
