I have this machine. it's running fine but the implement has not enough power. it was working perfectly until my implement got stuck into some strings. it came to a halt. I cleaned the mess. and now it starts ok, drives fine in 1 /2 /3 speed mode. but when I start the pto, it slows down and the implement has no power. what could it be ? thanks for the help.

Is that lady on steroids??? I ve got the same tech, am 6’3 guy and would have my upper back muscles screaming after such clean up. Bcs is specially using ladies to kind of lie of how easy is to operate their machinery. The reality turns out to be something else…. Get a 4w tractor and save your back.

The key is to let the tractor do the work, not to fight it. Use the tractor's features like steering brakes, differential drive, and shuttle reverse to control the machine. If you're using your strength to try and guide the tractor, you're going to have a rough day. It's completely self-propelled, so using all of the tractor's features to your advantage will make work much easier. Carman (in this video) owns the tractor and flail mower she is using. She'd be the first to tell you that she's not a body builder, just an elderberry farmer who uses her flail regularly around her property!

Thanks for this. There is still confusion over here in the UK regarding the correct lubricant for the power safe machines and they are still supplied filled with a hypoid oil (you can tell from the smell). This seemed totally wrong to me and I'm glad to have your information on the correct grades.

does the gear oil need to 3" on the dip stick? It's hard to see the oil on the white stick.

The distance from the top of the opening (where your finger will be clasping the dipstick) to the top of the oil line should be 3". The oil is barely on the tip of the dipstick in this video.

What's the difference between a flail mower and a brush cutter?
@BCSAmerica
@BCSAmerica 4 ай бұрын
Flail mowers have vertically spinning hammer blades that pulverize material into a fine mulch before letting it fall out the back. Brush mowers have horizontally spinning rotary blades. Flail mowers are perfect for shredding cover crops or spent crops in place if you want the material to break down quickly and feed the soil.

Is there a video about attaching implements without using a quick hitch?
@BCSAmerica
@BCSAmerica 4 ай бұрын
If you won't be using a quick hitch, the implements are simply attached to the PTO studs with the included nuts and domed washers. The domed washers MUST be installed with the dome facing away from the tractor, just like they are installed in this video. Keep that in mind and you should be good to go.

Hello, are you sure torque value for transmission bolt is just 13.56 Nm(10 ft/lb)? Do you know the oil engine bolt too for honda gx390 mounted on bcs? Sorry for my english, regards
@BCSAmerica
@BCSAmerica 4 ай бұрын
Yes, 10 ft/lbs is correct. For the Honda oil drain, it would only need to be about 5 ft/lbs. Essentially, tighten with a wrench, then give it another 1/4 to half turn.

I just bought an 853 second hand, nearly new. When I bought it, the handlebars were over the engine, with a flail mower mounted. When I rotate the handlebars to mount the tiller, the pto lever will not turn 180 to meet the handlebars in the new position the way it does in the video at 6:39, but will only flip up and over very awkwardly. It definitely doesn’t seem right.

While running the rotary plow the battery acid spilled and went on the brake drums. I power-washed it off as soon as I noticed it, disassembled and cleaned all the brake parts. I did use a non hardening silicone coating on the pivot pins. I made sure none got on the shoes, and it was a light coating so it would no bleed and contaminate anything else. The only other problem is that it got on the aluminum extensions. I am thinking I may have them anodized to protect them from oxidation. Do you see any issue with doing this? Thank you for your time.

I used the Gravely a long time ago. It had a cart, but was very hard to find. I found that with a homemade hitch I could mount a regular garden tractor trailer. It is actually easier to push the cart than pull it. It really worked well for filling raised beds or anywhere that had tight spaces to maneuver in.
