FYI the plugs with-out the Grey Cage do not assemble the same way... The cables have to be threaded through the plug as the pins go in from the front of the plug not the back as in the ones you have...

Correct. We prefer (and sell) the “push to seat” rather than “pull to seat” style connectors and terminals

What is the Purpose of The Aux/Pilot Contacts ? like in a 480V 3 phase 4W application, what would be the purpose of the aux/pilot contacts if any ? Can you give a real world example or provide links to such ?

Use NASA cable and harness workmanship standards speciation as your guide. It is publicly accessible online. A properly soldered joint that uses heat shrink tubing will beat this method of termination every day of the week.

Excellent Excellent videos man. Visually descriptive and simple to the point information. Q: Is this a similar harness setup for most stand alone ECU's out on the market in order to power an ECU?

Can you make a video on how to hermetically seal metal connectors to glass tubes such as vacuum tubes? I think Kovar wire is used for metal to glass seals. There is no video on youtube describing how to do it. Thanks.

Whats the brand/model on the Crimp tool that you are using here?
@v8tergt6538 ай бұрын
Do you have the model brand of the cheaper crimp tool?
@mavenperformance8 ай бұрын
I think those came from an auto parts store, they are not very good because the joints in the pliers are sloppy- there are better crimpers that are also inexpensive that are non ratcheting- look for a pair that have that shape / profile in the crimp section and has good reviews.
@v8tergt6538 ай бұрын
@@mavenperformance Im asking because I have already 2 different ones and they dont work at all, I bought your crimps as well. Would be awsome if you added some cheap ones to your website because I bet the expensive are worth it but when you dont use em often cheaper ones have to do.

I do quite a bit of wiring here and there and i'm currently building a full harness for my GVR4. I was just looking at the different GT150 3 way connectors out there and came across this. I absolutely love how much detail you've gone into for something that seems so small and inconsequential to most people. This is incredibly informative and illustrative. Couldn't ask for a better video.

I prefer to take the paper, and cut the holes with exacto, then trace it onto a piece of cardboard, and then use the cardboard as a template to cut a piece of metal or plastic Then glue the original paper template to the plastic

My A/C wall unit is newer and it has a bare wire wrapped in aluminum foil. It's made for "Safety." It also has a reset button on the plug. My dog bit through 2 places. I repaired it, but it will not work without the bare thin wire. I tried replacing the wire, to no avail.

I wanted to mount my ECM under my seat for my LS swap. So I'm thinking if I buy a second harness off Ebay, I could use this to extend my LS? Use one harness under hood, one harness in the cab with the connector as the junction.

I am looking for tools to measure the resilience in the socket. I notice that some pins are loose in the sockets, but I do not know what the resistance should be. I thought I had found something, the DMC95, but it is used to check if the pin or socket is properly stuck in the connector.

Another great video - learned from this one that the banded terminals will fit a larger gauge due to the *slightly* thinner wall on the terminal (socket or pin), which allows a bit larger wire. Excellent info!
