This was awesome, thanks for your great work and documenting such a rich culture. My wife family is from Trinidad and practice the Orisha tradition. It was refreshing seeing other west African ethnic groups traditions survive

Perhaps you are new to creating youtu.be videos and you may not have intended these to be public. You can change the settings to be unlisted, for example, which you may then share links so friends and family may view and who then themselves may even share them with others. Finally, you may or may not know you can disable comments to your postings.

Thank you, Orlando! I decided to make them public to make them easier for my family to find. But I'm pleased that others seem to enjoy them as well.

So grateful for this!! Now the whole world can watch the lives of a boring, depressing family nobody ever gave one miserable crap about. Pathetic pointless garbage.

I remember those videp cameras. My father had one with like 4 bright bulbs across. You could hardly adjust to that bright light.
@ryanbazinet Жыл бұрын
Thanks Eddie -- yes it looks like these cameras were pretty blinding to the people being filmed. Also pretty hard to believe that now everybody walks around with far superior video cameras in their pockets!

Adupe lopolopo to all who sacrificed to ensure the passing of these traditions to the current generation of Alkebu-lanese that arrived in the Americas either captured or free. The Rada/Dangbe Comme community of Belmont is a heritage of a free people that entered the Caribbean and maintained their traditions. Thanks Ryan for your investment in documenting these precious moments and time. Thanks to all the custodians who have shared their family traditions freely with the world.

Thanks, I like it! $200, and it had a brand new Goldring cartridge. It was being sold right on the sidewalk in front of my apartment, and I was looking for a decent turntable, so I couldn't pass it up.
