if the Brits were in control of the area they were responsible. if there had been a famine or shortage of medicine in Bristol or Leeds would the government have said those items were needed elsewhere and let those places go without?

With the damage expected at some time or the other, one must wonder about the electrical grid being destroyed and why the governor of California wouldn't hedge his bets and not insist that all autos sold after 2035 be only electrical. The surviving population will therefore have to flee on foot or bicycle as the electric powered autos will cease to run unless they are hybrid.

Well researched content, however...... in a video specifically about US Interstate highways, I don't know why you used so much B-roll showing highways and signs in Europe. After all, another feature of our Interstate system is its use of consistent signage and marking. We use yellow lines on the left shoulder -- not white -- those are from Europe. We use green signs for exits, not blue. Blue signs serve another purpose here. Was it lack of knowledge about such details or just laziness on the part of the person downloading the b-roll? Oh yeah, we drive on the right-hand side here, so the clip showing a British motorway is particularly jarring.

If you have kids, the final piece in Disney’s Fantasia 2000, set to music from The Firebird, is loosely based on the Mt. St. Helen disaster. It’s actually surprisingly moving, and ends on a very hopeful note, emphasizing natures extraordinary resilience. Beautiful.

The Interstate system helped many thousands of towns and villages to have the economic development that they otherwise would never have had. It also made them feel connected, instead of isolated.

If it did hit St. Petersburgh it would have affected WW2 in many ways too. You figure many of the people who had kids in the next 10-15 years woulsnt have been alive to have kids which would have made the Russian army much smaller and perhaps not holding off the Gernans in WW2. I would have assumed the Russians at the time would have thought it was a bomb from another country. Inagine what that would have done with their speculations of other countries and who was theur enemies.

The term "Indian" derives from the mistaken belief of Columbus that he'd arrived in India! That said, an excellent presentation which, I venture to suggest, could only have been made by an English person. Of course, the "white" people were largely religious maniacs who went, or were sent, to America by tolerant European countries, since their views were too extreme even for those countries, chiefly England and the Netherlands. The whole "Manifest Destiny" thing is what has caused most of America's ills, and is still doing so. Well done.

Highly amusing critique of The American Way. Deliberate appeasement of rich factional interests & the deliberate creation of underclasses are symptomatic of this.

Here in Southern Illinois its all "no till", they shallowly plow the fields every 3-5 years or so, they use all kinds of chemical fertilizers and such which cant be good for the environment or people but every technique has goods and bads, at least we learn from the past even though it doesn't always prevent history from repeating itself. They use to give away land, now they make you pay rent to the government for your own property, it's bs and we the people are at fault for allowing it to happen.

No 10 is located in the UK, therefore the correct abbreviation for number is ''No'' as in No 10 while the US requires the use of a full stop as in ''No. 10''. One should only see the abbreviation ''Nr'' in relation to the construction industry.

I love the fact that most of these documentaries omit the fact that England taxed Irish farmers so heavily that their only recourse was to to export all other crops to England, thus leaving the Irish citizens to subsist on potatoes. What most people glean from the famine is, "Why were the Irish so stupid as to subsist on nothing but potatoes?" They had no other choice. History is written by the winners and the media is bought and paid for. That's why Governments jail the academics.

At seventy eight years of age I could and have used maps to travel from the west in New Mexico to the east coast in South Carolina. However these days most maps are out of date due to new construction. Most maps don’t show small farm and market roads and new state highways. Plan ahead but expect delays in some areas.

Of corse the Interstates killed passenger trains. That was the goal of Charles Irwin, former head of General Motors. In the early 20th century, GM bought the LA street car system and shut it down so commuters would have to buy their cars to get to work. That was the beginning of SoCal’s famous sprawl and endless traffic jams on Irwin’s freeways.

Weird that Inanna couldn’t do anything to stop Sargon when Sargon famously worshipped Ishtar and contributes his victories to her support. If Inanna and Ishtar are supposed to be the same goddess then it would make sense that Inanna didn’t stop him.
