Why are you the only one saying this thing? Where did you get this information from? I don't agree with you because my fragrance does change in scent and is stronger after letting it sit in maceration in my closet. The information you are putting out is false. Who are you?

It’s maturing. Macerating happens when they make perfume. I’m just word nerding

I’m 65, and I do remember Revlon as a drugstore brand. I still wear Revlon lipsticks to this day. I remember Moon Drops and Intimate as two beautiful Revlon perfumes, though they were probably too old for me at that time. I think I traded a bottle of Coty Wild. Musk (not my type, I was a Jovan musk girl) for a bottle of Intimate and wore it anyway. It was so beautiful to my nose. That’s been 50:years ago. I also wore original Charlie as a teen, and my mom wore Norell when going out in the evening. Charlie and Norell were very much mother/daughter fragrances to me, Charlie for my day time bopping around, and Norell as a sophisticated evening perfume for my mother. I don’t know whether or not you’re familiar with Norell, but I’m guessing you’d love it, a rich green and floral perfume. Keep an eye out for it in the wild. I had Charlie White in the late 90s or early 2000s. It was probably a drugstore purchase. I remember it as surprisingly charming, floral, aquatic, summery. I think it had a watermelon note. I haven’t smelled the other Charlies but I’m curious now. There are so many! Oops, I forgot, I have another one somebody sent me, Charlie Oriental in a celadon green plastic or vinyl coated bottle. It smells like Opium, obviously intended to. This “orientalism” was very trendy at the time, though its release date was late 80s, which seems a bit late for the Opium genre. When I was 18 or 19 I discovered Jontue. It was my signature for a while, and I received compliments galore on that. And I just recently bought Ciara. I didn’t know it back in the day. Ciara and I are still getting acquainted. The first time I wore it I smelled only strong sweet raspberry incense punks and nothing else. The second time I wore it I smelled Bal à Versailles (I’m a huge fan of that). Today, I’m wearing it for the 3rd tjme, and I think I’m getting smoke, maybe even some sweet leather. It wants to reveal itself slowly I suppose. I think Ciara is going to be a bit of a chameleon. So far I’m loving it. That’s my Revlon lineup. Apologies for the lengthy post but it’s fun to share these things. Oh no! I forgot Jean Naté concentrated cologne! It was soooo good, now sadly discontinued.

I LOVE Coriandre and never see it mentioned. I got so many compliments on this from my co-workers that I went to TJ Maxx and bought everybody a bottle. To me it smells like a woman in cold winter with a long camel-hair coat and a pair of boots with chunky heels. And a hanky in her purse. My mom and I always used Halston! How I love your Kokopelli. I am nostalgic about Jontue...used to love that in college.

I totally agree with you! Scent decants are way too expensive for how much perfume you get. I think getting a dupe perfume oil is a great idea because it’s economical and you still get a feel for the fragrance profile. Thanks for sharing, I’ll definitely be doing this in the future! 😊

I buy samples from various websites - Microperfumes is a good one, etsy, fragrancenet is really good too. Many times, it isnt worth buying the sample - i just risk blind buying and sell it later if need be.

I enjoyed this video. I like your speaking style. It’s more genuinely conversational, rather than listening to a recitation like many videos are today. 🙂 I’ve worn a few Elizabeth Arden fragrances over the years. I currently have Green Tea Cherry Blossom (very nice!); a Red Door mini parfum that I’m afraid to wear anywhere but at home; Sunflowers, which I wore in the 90s but I’m not loving now. I liked Provocative Woman for a while. And I sorta want White Tea.and Blue Grass. I’m sure I’m forgetting something. 5th Avenue was nice.

Great idea for a video! I do a little of all of the ways you mention. I think dupes are perfectly legitimate, and I do try fragrance oils as a means to "sample" the real thing. I live in a rural area and do not find myself near a mall often at all.

Fellow introvert here. I'd thought about going on a cruise recently... I don't think I'd like it much. Far too people-y! I don't like bothering the fragrance counter ladies to smell too many fragrances. I feel like it's rude. 🥴

If I'm buying samples I tend to buy several at once to save on postage. I like discovery sets as they're such a good way to scratch an itch. More often than not, I've hated lots of hyped ones and gone on to buy the less popular ones from the brand. Also, you often get a discount code that's the value of the discovery set. I haven't worn L'Aimant in ages; it's a good one, and yes to trying male targeted scents. I love the iris in Dior Homme and Beach Hut Man, Reflection Man and Interlude Man Black Iris are on my to-try list.

Fantastic idea for trying fragrances! I've never heard of Wholesale Body Oils but that's a great idea to try inexpensive dupes before buying the actual fragrance! I don't really get to try anything anymore except for in the stores, which I'm not really close to anymore. So I end up blind buying most things now unless they're at The Body Shop, B&BW or our store here in Canada that carries a lot of high end fragrances, Shopper's Drug Mart. I don't ever buy samples either. I got lucky the other day a woman in a dept store gave me TWO MUGLER samples!!! I don't really ask because I remember people hassling me for samples when I used to work behind the counter so I don't really ask anymore but these were just sitting there and she gave them to me!🤩🤩🤩 Also, I'm with you on the Starbucks coffee price gauge. LOL!🤣😂😂 How much is this thing in relation to a Starbucks coffee. LOL!! Great vid as always Corinna!

Hi i get my samples from a site called Scent Angels. I nuy mostly travel sprays to test but sometimes 5ml. They are very reasonable and they often have sales. I got an eight mil of some bond number nine Fragrances as well as lune felene and two Mancera Fragrances one was chocolate greedy. They were all under $20 each and I will get quite a few uses out of those rials. I will warn you that although they are sprays the sprays do not work well and you really have to open the cap and put it on your finger and then onto your wrist, but it is a much better option than paying so much money for those tiny little two mil samples .

i love esprit d'oscar and passion, both so beautiful. the only le labo i have is labdanum 18 in the oil and the only reason is that neiman marcus was closing and they had a huge sale. it's a beautiful perfume though. i also like lys 41, which is a big white floral. thanks for talking about iris 39 because i've been interested in that one, but like you i tend to not want to pay that much for samples. also choc de cardin sounds really interesting as well.

Cabochard is such a gem! And they did it right. I got different bottles from different decades. It is still as great as ever. If I am feeling weak and down - this is the scent! Makes me stand tall and grow claws if needed. Works every time. A difficult work situation ahead? No problem. Cabochard fuels confidence and makes it easy to set boundaries. Also - it is not a cosy, inviting scent. I sold or gifted most of my Elizabeth Taylor scents. Black diamonds is still with me. My problem with these: I loooove the opening on the ones I owned, but the drydown always was disappointing as it turns odd on me. I enjoy black diamonds but have to layer something over it later on as it gets a bit icky… Edit: Passion of course, not black diamonds tststs 🫠

Hey, I am Swiss and some things are not familiar to me… what’s a tootsie pop?
@MyPerfumeMap
@MyPerfumeMap 2 күн бұрын
It’s a lollipop with a tootsie roll center. I’m not sure if you are familiar with tootsie rolls because they are kind of an old American candy. They are a chewy, almost waxy, chocolate flavored candy. Probably pretty gross to anyone who didn’t grow up eating them, lol. Somehow delicious and nostalgic if you did.
