For the last 2 years my A1C has come back 5.8 and I keep telling my GP those readings cannot be true. Since she keeps refusing to write a script for a cgm I reordered strips for my keto mojo. I have been testing my glucose 3 times (morning, noon and night) a day for 3 weeks, so far my daily average is 88, which correlates with an A1C of 4.7.

Thank you for answering my question! 26:25 You are correct Stephen my creatinine is 173 umol/l not mmol. My HDL is 1.29 mmol No medications, 50 yr female , 5’, high body fat %, formerly keto with great results that got derailed so I’m trying carnivore to reclaim health and optimal composition. Aiming for 120-150 g of fat and protein daily. Doctor told me to “flood” myself with water and she’ll retest in a few days in case it was dehydration. If no improvement nephrology referral

@CoachStephen
@CoachStephen Күн бұрын
Just I can understand your concern. Here is some reading you may find helpful. Sunlight Sun exposure is healthy pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15687362/ www.medicalnewstoday.com/mnt/releases/308202#1 Read the chemicals on the back of your sunscreen bottle. What are they?...You assume they are SAFE because they are sold to you. Some places have banned these chemicals, but then another chemical is approved to take their place, for better or worse until we continue to be the experiment for them and bad reactions start happening...then they get pulled and replaced. Rinse and repeat. These chemicals penetrate our skin, accumulate in the body, and mimic our hormones. There have been studies showing these chemicals in sunscreen cause reproductive HARM. YOU READY FOR THIS ONE?! Some of these ingredients react to LIGHT causing free radicals and harmful byproducts that could increase your risk for Big C. Free radicals cause cellular damage, so every time you lather on your sunscreen thinking you are protecting yourself, you are damaging your cells. Sunscreen ingredients have harmed the environment such as the coral reef. If they are poisoning the environment like that, imagine what they are doing to you! There are other ways to protect yourself from sunburn. Clean up your diet. Eliminate seed oils which are inflammatory and can lead to sun burn. Eat a diet high in antioxidants if you're going to be in the sun. Wear clothing to shield yourself if you feel it's necessary. Build up your skin's tolerance to sun overtime. I stopped consuming seed oils and cleaned up my diet heavily 2 years ago when I started eating meat again and focusing on nutrient dense food. Last summer, I didn't sunburn once. When my skin would start to get more red, that was my sign I needed to leave the sun and nourish my skin with TALLOW. Your body tells you what it needs The Clot Thickens: The enduring mystery of heart disease I thought of you when I read this quote from "The Clot Thickens: The enduring mystery of heart disease" by Malcolm Kendrick - "Yes, you are the sunshine of my life. Why do you think it feels so good when you go and lie in the sun? Because IT IS GOOD FOR YOU. With all these benefits it ought to give you several more years of healthy life, and it appears that it does. A study was done in Sweden, mentioned earlier, looking at women with “active sunlight exposure habits.” Which is a poncy medical way of saying… sunbathes a lot. They compared these evil sunbathing harlots to another group of women who avoided the sun. What did the researchers find? “Non-smokers who avoided sun exposure had a life expectancy similar to smokers in the highest sun exposure group, indicating that avoidance of sun exposure is a risk factor for death of a similar magnitude as smoking. Compared to the highest sun exposure group, life expectancy of avoiders of sun exposure was reduced by 0.6-2.1 years.” 239 This was a 20-year study, so a lifetime of sun exposure could give you 3 to 8 years of added life expectancy. Possibly 10, if you compare avoiding sunlight to smoking, as these researchers did. To those who cry, but what of melanoma? I respond, ‘what of melanoma?’ Whilst no-one wants to get it, it remains a very uncommon cancer, killing about a tenth the number who die of either say, breast, or prostate cancer. Added to this, the evidence that sun exposure actually causes malignant melanoma is weak, at best. Here from an article written in the British Journal of Dermatology (no less), which was entitled “Melanoma epidemic: a midsummer night’s dream.” It stated a number of pretty startling things: • The rise in reported malignant melanoma is due to ‘diagnostic drift’ whereby benign lesions are reported as stage one melanoma • The distribution of melanomas does not correspond to areas of sun exposure. You would expect them on the face, the arms, the legs, more than anywhere else. Not true • There needs to be a re-evaluation of the role of UV radiation and recommendations for protection from it • There needs to be a new direction for research into the cause. Yes, this was actually written by dermatologists. Members of the very speciality who constantly harangue us to never, ever, go out into the sun. At least not without slathering every inch of your body with clothing, or high-powered suntan lotion." Start reading this book for free: amzn.eu/fbs1Ptu

My best friend of 35 years just died of malignant melanoma 2 weeks ago. It started as a little reddish bump on her middle toe and she had shown it to several drs over a couple years time, who didn't think it was anything. Ended up being all through the toe which had to be amputated. 6 months later they found the same cancer in her brain, lungs, thyroid, next to her spine. She did the radiation and immunotherapy, but she was told at the start that it was terminal. She fought it for a year and a half and died 3 days before her 75th birthday. She didn't spend much time in the sun, and wore a cover up and hat when she did sit by the pool. She wasn't outdoorsy at all. Didn't bike, hike, fish or camp. I don't think she over exposed just her toes! I don't burn in the sun anymore and don't wear sunscreen. I do wear a hat when working in the garden and the only time I wear sunglasses is when driving. I'm in the U.S. and sunscreen is preached. I keep telling my kids to find a better alternative for my grandkids. Thanks for what y'all are doing!

Yes it's not great for someone looking for guidance. All I can talk about is personal experience and that shows reversal of disease with this way of eating. Secondly the science shows protein to be protective. Kidneys and protein Renal function in patients following a low carbohydrate diet for type 2 diabetes: a review of the literature and analysis of routine clinical data from a primary care service over 7 years Shown in his diabetic patients with kidney function damage, the low carbohydrate diet improved kidney function. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34468402/ Case reports on well-trained bodybuilders: Two years on a high protein diet The findings indicate that 2 yrs of a high protein diet in healthy resistance trained men had no effect on measures of body composition as well as liver or kidney function. Thus, there is no evidence to suggest that consuming a high protein diet over a 2-yr period causes any harmful side effects www.researchgate.net/publication/323257734_Case_reports_on_well-trained_bodybuilders_Two_years_on_a_high_protein_diet Myth busted: Researchers show that a high-protein diet does not affect kidney function “There is simply no evidence linking a high-protein diet to kidney disease in healthy individuals or those who are at risk of kidney disease due to conditions such as obesity, hypertension or even type 2 diabetes,” says Devries-Aboud. According to Phillips, “Protein causing kidney damage just lacks any support. I think we can put this concept to rest.” brighterworld.mcmaster.ca/articles/myth-busted-researchers-show-that-a-high-protein-diet-does-not-affect-kidney-function/ The notion that high protein intake damages the kidneys was advanced by Dr. Barry Brenner, a top nephrologist in the '80s, based on data from rat studies. It was thoroughly debunked by the massive Modification of Diet in Renal Disease study (1994). There's a vegan cult in medicine and nephrology that continue to promote low protein diets to "slow progression" of kidney disease. This is harmful, particularly since low carb diets can reverse type 2 diabetes, and prevent progressive kidney failure. journals.lww.com/co-endocrinology/abstract/9000/renal_function_in_patients_following_a_low.99181.aspx IMPORTANT! Despite high protein fears low-carb diets may well IMPROVE kidney function as our new study suggests👍 t.co/eG9pCju9zG ⁦@Wongplan1⁩ ⁦@jen_unwin⁩ ⁦@Dr__Guess⁩ ⁦@drjasonfung⁩ ⁦@DrPaulMason⁩ t.co/pI6BJ8QvGp

Great interview! You can only lead a horse to the water. I am a living example of thriving on the carnivore woe for 8 years as of this month. My son has gone carnivore for the past year to reverse his T2 diabetes at age 21. However, my husband who very badly needs to change over to carnivore, still refuses. He is too addicted to sugar and the "variety" of carbs. We just continue along as living examples for him.

When we started we were considered a crazy cult! LOL!!! This has been most rewarding! We are passionate about helping others take control of their own health. In our younger days we would have established a form of this ADS! We are very happy Dr Berry & Neisha have taken the steps to broaden their reach. We are in full support. We have recommended following both to all our patients and friends. We too are now full on Carnivore and reaping the benefits. Thank you Dr. Berry & Neisha!

Yeah... I did try it, I felt great, but... the best meat that they recommend is beef or lamb because is very healthy and nutritious, I'm not saying it's not, but the problem is that I hate them from the bottom of my heart, everything from their texture to their taste and the meats that I like (chiken, fish and seafood) cannot sustain me long term😢

Great podcast! I just had my physical and had my blood labs My lipids were better my HDL was 44 it has never been that high! I possibly have FH . On the SAD diet my HDL stay at 25. And of course I have high LDL . What really bothered me was my A1C was 5.7 and my glucose was 114. Drove me crazy! I do have some wine most days unless it is too late like 6:00 it will disrupt my sleep! So the wine has come to an end! Hopefully in 3 months the A1C will be better and the glucose will be lower! I eat carnivore just hamburger eggs and steak I do drink coffee with ghee and whipping cream or MCT oil. That is the end of my saga! 😂
@CoachStephen

The a1c is a flawed metric. Using fasted glucose, fasted insulin and c-peptide labs is a better measure. A CGM is EVEN better and will give you a true reflection of what is happening. When is your glucose 114? Why is that driving you crazy? We all need some level of blood glucose.

Interesting interview. 54 year old lean woman, carnivore for 1.5 years. Tried to reintroduce green leaf lettuce, cucumbers, avo, for a few days but felt swollen, had water retention in ankles and around waist. Stopped and went back to full carnivore. I can only tolerate couple tbs fermented veg and make my own raw goat milk fermented kefir. I seem to tolerate these two ok. I also have long term chronic collagenous collitus so have to be very careful with eating only ruminant meat, and on occasion, wild caught fish. Currently, high fat carnivore with lower protein amounts is working well for me. Thanks Coach Steven for all your great content.
