I love my RS, I can't do any of this though! I wouldn't even know how to begin to learn how to do half this stuff.

most stunning concept since the r18 concept, and them we had the actual r18.... I therefore have no hopes for this one, if it eventuallu makes it to production

No one is wrong, we are just tired of seeking who's who. Well guess what, the real one came and it's the responsibility of the real one to be known. Who's the real one? the answer to that is for you to seek, if you're too tired to look for it then you're clearly just not interested. Simply enough, those who seek answers dives into the wilderness while keeping their tongue and those who do not, turns back and speaks as if they know something.

When you truly understand the word " fettle ", means you will get it . The US spec bike you were riding is not the top spec bike that Triumph made . the Home and general market spec bikes were the one . Here in NZ we got lower bars , which by moving the rider central mass lower and slightly further forward weighted / balanced the bike much better ( like a modern sport bike ). The longer pipes on the home market spec bikes , gave you a stronger top end . The ignition timing is adjusted separately for each cylinder and because points wear , they require maintenance ( fettling ). The carbs require balancing and adjusting . But just to add to it a little more there's more available with jetting and adjusting to optimize for altitude and season ( fettling ). Talk to the classic race boys about the brakes , soft linings and machining the linings to fit the drum , ( again fettling ). " fettling " is not something you can pay to have done but rather something that " you " learn as a part of the journey . A true joy that is sadly almost lost .

I'm also "of an age" where I fondly remember these bikes and this thing really floats my boat. So much that I'm thinking about getting off my GS for one. Such a pity I can't have more than one bike.

I wonder how much of this will make into production. Clearly the sound won't and will need a better rear end and plate holder. At least BMW Motorrad is having a bit of fun for a change

WTF? Are they trying ro make it as wide as possible? That looks ridiculous. You can't possibly lean that bike at all. The engine is half a SUV wide! 😱🤦🏼‍♂

Always wanted the 996. Bought one 3 years later still loved it but only to look at, first few months you don’t care about comforts but after 3 years you will, got the 749R now and I can honestly say it’s got it all., let’s see how I feel about it next 3 years

BMW will go Bagger-Racing and smashing the current players, just to brute-force attention to the Boxer showing it‘s way better than the old V twins. Though it‘s missing one point. To sell those bikes, they need to have built a US culture of Hot-Rod bikes of the 50s, the 60s or 80s…. But nothing of that has existed, the R80GS though did. And I can‘t still see a heritage GS that is serious about it from BMW. Hilarious waste of money or market.

I'd have one, but I fear it will end up a compromised version, just like what happened with the Indian FTR1200 concept/production bike.

I have a 2007 SV650 that I bought for $1,500. 50k miles and counting. Changed the sprockets for smaller front/larger rear, now there are only a handful of cars that can hang with me off the line. Hoping to do my first track day sometime soon! Great video
