Annette admitted she was not a good singer - her voice was manipulated etc. But she was so popular and young people bought her records. I think Annette’s fame from the Mickey Mouse Club was due to her beauty, her charisma on camera, and Disney capitalizing on this. Annette just had that quality. And as she comments, good timing. I think she was an outstanding person in a lot of ways. And ofcourse, her gorgeous figure didn’t hurt any. Just hope developments for neurological diseases can come faster. My cousin has MS but much milder than Annette.

Both Doreen and Annette have passed away as well as Dennis Day, Karen Pendelton who passed away Oct 6, 2019. Johnny Crawford is ill with Alzheimers as well as Cheryl Holdridge.

I have 8 more years to go before I turn 70 year old.

the reason she was the most popular mouseketeer is simple,the same reason she had a huge fan base til she died and why people still miss her,she was sweet and pretty and could brighten your day. had they had dancing with the stars in her day she could easily have won,she could easily have won a miss America contest,and im not alone in my wish that shed have been a great country singer and should have made more albums!she could have given barbera mandrell,another sweet lovely lady who won hearts at a young age,did win a beauty pageant and could have won a miss America pageant a true run for her money!

Shelley, we all share in the loss of a great and wonderful lady. There are not the words to describe Annette Funicello and the love and joy she brought into our lives. I often wondered if she really even understood just how special she was to all of us who love her so. She will surely be missed and thought of often. I am happy to know she had such a wonderful sweet person as yourself to call friend. I am sure you blessed her life also.
