Shelley, you are fantastic ! Ever since Girl Happy you have stole my heart!!

Shelley, we all share in the loss of a great and wonderful lady. There are not the words to describe Annette Funicello and the love and joy she brought into our lives. I often wondered if she really even understood just how special she was to all of us who love her so. She will surely be missed and thought of often. I am happy to know she had such a wonderful sweet person as yourself to call friend. I am sure you blessed her life also.

And in one of your movies, when you were in the boat, in Elvis movie, you were laughing with that contagious laugh. It was so feminine and contagious. Both Annette & Shelly were the epitome of class as teen icons. No wonder they were close friends. Isn't interesting how much of a positive and profound effect that Annette Funicello had on people who never actually met her? What a wonderful legacy for such a beautiful and talented woman.

Shelley, although Annette isn't with us, she's still having a good influence on me, personally. I grew up with Mickey Mouse Club (I'm about Karen & Cubby's age) and am a semi-retired school teacher. Last year (2012) just before Christmas Vacation, I was diagnosed with Lupus Cerebritis. It's no picnic, but nowhere near as bad as MS. She did a lot of good even while ill. It's an inspiration to me to keep going and to make the most of my own life. May Annette rest in peace!

Hello Annette :) I still remember during the mid 70s watching the Mickey Mouse Club on my black and white television and my heart dropping when I saw you. I kissed the tele when seeing your face and with embarrassment hearing my grandma giggling behind me haha My first crush Annette Funicello!!! God bless you Annette. May the Lord Almighty give you continued love and care Princess!

Yes she was an angel. and the first girl I ever had a crush on! I would rush home from school just to see her on MMC! I love her and her music and what she stood her. RIP Annette! sweet angel!

Well said and thanks so much for sharing such heartfelt words! I can only wonder how Shelley felt on Monday when she heard the news since she was one of Annette's closest friends in this life. I was traveling back home on Monday night and there I was a rest stop in the California desert before midnight and looking at the starry sky and thinking about Annette and her first night in Heaven, I had tears flowing down my face because of my sadness since she really WAS so special in so many ways!

hello skaha65, I just turned 60 so I was in love with an older woman..hehe! I even met Frankie Avalon in the late 80s. and saw him Bobby Rydell, and Fabian in Teen legends concert in KC in 87 or 88. I cried the day Annette died, and she was the only one besides Elizabeth Taylor and Karen Carpenter.

Shelley is still a looker ; )
