Funny how all the film nerds are young hipsters. Us older guys who shot film for like 40 years, from mid teens to mid fifties would never go back to film. Way too expensive to shoot regularly. You could easily pay up to £$30 for one roll of film taking into consideration the cost of the film, developing and scanning. That’s almost £$1 for 1 photo. So for about 2500 shots it’s going to cost you over £$2000+, that’s about 70 rolls of 35mm film. At this point you’ve paid for a new digital camera. 😅😂 Forget the feel or character of film, it’s a bloody rip off. Yeah, back when it would cost about £1 to buy film and you would get a free roll of film every time you had it developed, it was cool, but there were no digital cameras then. Nothing beats digital. Money dictates how much film you can shoot.

Damn here I was planning to do a whole 5 minute short cause I thought it’d look nice. And of course I completely forgot how many photos you’d actually be able to take. Plus it was gonna be pixelation animation so that’s whole nother beast . Yours was great tho!

I'm hoping either Polaroid, Kodak, or some other company eventually starts reproducing film for these cameras again.

The sky does NOT scatter IR light well, hence it looks dark. Rayleigh scattering cross section is proportional to 1/lambda^4. Lambda is large for infrared, therefore the cross section for scattering is small, and you see it dark.

Really cool video with some amazing results! Colour infrared is so rare on the Internet. Personally, I tried recreating aerochrome looks with Photoshop and I found my infrared camera to be worse for that than using a normal camera. As you can see, the wood-effect on aerochrome film doesn't really show up at all. Aerochrome is affecting mostly the colours. Getting red foliage in infrared is quite counter-intuitive since "white foliage" is way too bright to be converted to red. You will rather get some pink look with an infrared camera or you will have to underexpose the foliage, which makes little sense, either. In the end, I gave up on trying to recreate that look. It makes little sense with an infrared camera. If you turn green into red in post-processing you are already closer to that look, with a normal camera.

Imo, the origins of vr goes back a lot further. All vr relies on the 3d effect that's produced by stereoscopic images, which was discovered mid 1800s. I love collecting and viewing 100-150 year old 3d pictures, the home entertainment system of the wealthy before motion pictures were invented.
