The opening and ending always seemed to promise how epic this show should have been … didn’t quite come together in the end but still some memorable bits

I'm sorry. Loved this show! 🙇 But... they should've stuck with the military/mecha aspect. Like: Robotech, Gundam etc. All that Ancient Japanese "filler." Was absolutely, unnecessary! Took me out of the show 😒 Other than that. Damn, Good! 👍
@kindlingking6 ай бұрын
Imo the show would've probably been much better if it was at least twice as long so it could properly develop it's mystical elements and politics without sacrificing mecha action.

I feel this show would have benefited from having less episodes but more story focused. There were lots of what felt like filler episodes that went nowhere.

Remember watching the trailers on my Orphen DVD around 2003. Finally got a hold of the whole series in about 2013. It's...ambitious. One of the more grounded mecha animes but it tries to be way too many things. At one point it turns into a political drama for three episodes and throws some weird stuff in the middle. May need to rewatch it but it's an odd show.
@gamerkev305 ай бұрын
Same here, just got into it after finding the vol. 3 DVD at a Goodwill. Beginning was great, got real slow in the middle, but now It's hitting the climax and its making more sense.

this is sadly the best part of the anime, The rest of the show is CNN Coverage of the Gulf War with robots added.

I think it's a interesting anime. They mixed mecha with space travel & time passage. But it's the backstory/history that's really interesting, & the fights are cool. Added by the use of traditional music from the spin drums & vocals that I loved the most.
@Pizza_Is_Cool7 ай бұрын
@@Myuutantobasuta Spoken like someone who hasn't watched Gasaraki. There's a lot of shit going on with weird rituals that awaken this ancient bio-orgnic oni mecha and a mysterious and destructive god that the villains keep trying to summon and control.
@UteChewb7 ай бұрын
It's a good series. I was disappointed about how they ended it but still worth watching. I also liked the intro song, called Message #9. The intro is set in the present with the couple on opposite sides of the conflict fighting with giant mechs, and the ending Love Song is in the past and has them on opposite sides fighting with, well, you'll see.
