I discovered this when I was in the hospital about 10 to 15 years ago... I watched this during my whole hospital stay... (same with Ergo Proxy about 3 years ago). I gotta admit both shows helped me recover big time, while I was admittted. Never forgot either anime... NEVER!

Ooooh god, this opening would play on our old Sonic OVA VHS tape before the movie started, I remember being so enthralled by this song. This and the other anime opening (Which the name seems to slip my mind at the moment) have been etched into my mind since I was a kid.

I just discovered this anime ,it is really hidden among all the garbage that is available today. This is a real jewel of robotic marvels. It's like the armored core/front mission of anime.

Was looking for Mecha anime series that weren’t so well known and this one caught my eye. Seeing this opening as well as the animation, now I’m intrigued. This looks kickass and gritty af.

It's a great series but not tremendously action packed. Like others have said on here you might have to watch it multiple times and also just in the right mood as well so you don't lose interest in long non action sequences

@@stevenmaxwell513 Yeah I never even finished this show despite being into it for a long time. It was very heavy on geopolitical squabbles and ideological/philosophical debates from what I recall. It definitely requires multiple watches to comprehend everything.

@@Housesider A bit slow yeah, but the mystical feel of it and the mechs are nice. Never watched the end, like always with anime. Never watch the end so I won´t feel empty afterwards. Like when finishing a awesome book series, that just feels awfull most times

Un anime del género mecha con una historia algo compleja, los detalles realistas muy bien elaborados aunque quedaron muchos vacíos en cuanto argumentos de la definición de los Kugai y el Gasaraki trae muy buenos recuerdos... Incluso pienso hacerme un tatuaje del Kugai, algo original...

Remember watching the trailers on my Orphen DVD around 2003. Finally got a hold of the whole series in about 2013. It's...ambitious. One of the more grounded mecha animes but it tries to be way too many things. At one point it turns into a political drama for three episodes and throws some weird stuff in the middle. May need to rewatch it but it's an odd show.

Same here, just got into it after finding the vol. 3 DVD at a Goodwill. Beginning was great, got real slow in the middle, but now It's hitting the climax and its making more sense.

I'm sorry. Loved this show! 🙇 But... they should've stuck with the military/mecha aspect. Like: Robotech, Gundam etc. All that Ancient Japanese "filler." Was absolutely, unnecessary! Took me out of the show 😒 Other than that. Damn, Good! 👍

Imo the show would've probably been much better if it was at least twice as long so it could properly develop it's mystical elements and politics without sacrificing mecha action.
