Hi, I never said in the video it was mine and frankly I don't think anyone can claim creative ownership, because these shapes are as old as can be. I learned them between 1990 and 1995 on the academy and some of them are used in Jazz all the time. What does belong to Tim Miller's creative ownership is his remarkable modal approach with another kind of 2-1 and 3-1 fingerings for particular modal sounds and applications. This is another thing.

Tbh most modes of this scale are strange, but I think double harmonic itself isn't. Within a given octave, it's the only mode where there are no chromatic triplets. So, it makes more sense heptatonically, and imo it sounds the most stable. It also sounds very much at home for me, a lot like Phrygian dominant and harmonic major fused together (which it basically is), and I love both of those scales.

Top tier lesson 🔥. Also playing the vocal lines of the musics on the guitar was a 500 IQ move to avoid the copyright police 🚓

Hi, i don't get it when you're talking about the 6th rule . U say over a MAJ Chord u can play the min penta of the 5 th degree. In you back track you wrote Am penta over G Maj ( myxolidian ) !? This is not the Dm penta i should play instead ? On the first Bar of the impro, Bm penta over G Maj, ok that is rule n°1 but what about this Am penta ? thanks for your answer

This is real deep stuff...that expression "gravitational pull... " as in music... wow! I don't even know what's the meaning of chords, mode and scales as of the time of writing. Do you have absolute beginner's videos? I would like to learn to play the guitar professionally. Anyway, kudos to you for your musical prowess and the seemingly effortless ability to transmit your knowledge.

This is great, especially for those committed to learning all the guitar. However, this is hardly the case, and given the time to master even o e single skill on the guitar, i think a better approach would be to focus on what you need. Casual players like me have limited time and are only interested in certain styles or even specific songs.

Just one thing I’m confused about. You said that the modes are just the scale starting on a different note. Like A major Dorian starts on B and uses the same notes( A B C# D E F# G#)But when you showed the chart, the intervals were different for Dorian(A B C D F# G) how you explained it at the start? I’m probably misunderstanding.

Hi Joe. The Dorian mode (or dorian scale) starts on the 2nd note of a major scale. For instance, the A dorian mode (or A Dorian scale) starts on the second note of the G major scale (A is the 2nd note in G major). Thus, A Dorian starts on the note A and contains the notes of the G major scale: A-B-C-D-E-F#-G. Does this help?

Cool vid. Thanks! Easier: C Maj: I ii iii IV V vi vii° C D E F G A B The dom of scale degree X is 5 away inclusive the scale. Make it a 7 chord: A7 for Dm B7 for Em C7 for F D7 for G E7 for A ? F7 for Bm° The dim secondary dominant truly is interesting. C♯dim7 for Dm D♯dim7 for Em E dim7 for F F♯dim7 for G G♯dim7 for Am A♯dim7 for Bm° B dim7 for C
